I've only been cubing for 3 months and just recorded my first sub 30 solve. Am I making fast progress or is this normal for most speedsolvers when starting out?

Too me, thats normal or maybe a little bit slow. I havent reached a month and got sub-40. Fastest time 43.60.
Suppose I'm gonna catch up on ya :D

Also, as an addition to 5BLD's question, try to calm down, and know that most of the world can't even solve it, much less have the courage to go to a comp.

I have been cubing for a week, and I am at 1:30, is this normal?

Ok, I am having some questions.

1. Where can I find a guide to be better att f2l and algs for both left and right hand?

2. Where can I find a good x-cross tutorial?

3. Is OLL and PLL always the fastest way to solve the LL?

1. Wiki
2. Look up for some petrus 2x2 block tutorial
3. No. You can use COLL sometimes, or ZBLL, or ELL, or some other stuff. Browse the wiki a bit.

With skill and determination. :3
The 5.33 was just me being wayyy on top of my game. I average ~11, not 5. :P
Jeez, although you average about the same as me, you're so much more inconsistent... which leads to sexy singles...
Would you mind uploading an average of 12? I'd like to see your turn style, I mean, you say your first block is better than mine, yet your second block is even worse than mine (and mine is horrible no offence [to you]). I gotta see this :D

Look at Boca, polish alg database. Though it should be intuitive. Badmephisto also has some nice f2l algs, but some are pretty bad. I use prob 2/3 at least of the algs he uses, because they are fast, and low move count. I assume most people do basically those algs...

2. Where can I find a good x-cross tutorial?
Youtube, I think weston has a good one, if not then maybe Erik Johnson (captaincrash44 IIRC) has a 2x2x2 block tutorial IIRC you can learn off that.

3. Is OLL and PLL always the fastest way to solve the LL?
There is no way to test that, it is the most popular, and I think recognition is better then CLL/ELL.

EOLine- solve DF and DB in place while orienting all edges. This means the edge could be solved with <R,U,L,D>.
the line reduces it to RUL.

F2L- build two roux blocks as normal but using just RUL. This finishes off F2L.

LL- last layer.

Any tips for a cfop user whos gunna switch to roux?i avg 17 with cfop and 35 with roux

In summary. Work on blocks. Much more efficent and using no rotations.
LSE is probably weird for you since you never use it in CFOP. so work on that.
Just like CFOP, ask people questions, look at tuts and practice.

What's this LL system called?
1.Cross on top
2. Corner placement (facing wrong)
3. Corner rotation
4. Edge rotation

Please no "funny" answers like "gay", this is a legitimate question.
