4BLD has:
same 8 corners
roughly twice the edge memo (I don't think you have single flips but you have 24 pieces)
and I believe about 14 centers to solve if you reorient it properly, correct me if I'm wrong

That makes roughly 15 images with your memo method... more like 12 if you do audio corners.

101 people are officially sub 12 average, and 100 people are officially under 1:40 3BLD single; sub 10 would be equal to, say, 75 seconds... I guess?

Fingertrick for U(b)??

Specifically the R U R U part. Or should i just deal with the regrip I have to do?

assuming you the (b) is the counterclockwise. since i never learned which is which lol
I do it this way and can easily do it in 1.5 seconds
(R U' R) (U R) (U R U' R' U' R2)
(R U' R) push the U' with your thumb
(U R) flick U with index finger then flick wrist for the R
(U R U' R' U' R2) regrip and do the sexy move U R U' R' and add U' R2 to the end they blend very well :)

Hmm ok ill try practicing. And you do that U' with your thumb? seems easier to use my left index finger

try starting the alg with your right thumb on the bottom of DFR corner and then do R U' R. it is really fluid.
where, if you use your left index your right hand can sometimes get in the way, unless you hold it a certain way. at least that is how it is for me.

i can get sub 1.5s on H without the flick thing
I do mine this way (R2r2) R2' U (R2r2) R2' U2 (R2r2) R2' U (R2r2) R2'
its the same as the M version but approached differently
just did an avg12 and got 1.63, but i am a cautious solver to avoid pops.
I can do almost all of my PLL sub2 and the ones that arnt are sub3.
which is good to me. I think faster ones will come with time.

another option is to do Rr R' then one M flick in place of the (R2r2) R2'

I've grown tired of my GuHong and considering getting an Alpha V or a LingYun. Have already had an F-II and GH and I like the GuHong a little better than those, but it has worn out.

What cube would you say I should buy of those two? I want to try something new, and I saw that those both have a crispy feel. I have only tried an A5 once, and that was back when I was avg. 35-40 and had a storebought but back then it felt amazing.

Any help is highly appreciated :D

... I can't seem to get a good double M flick

Oh I have the perfect solution for you, on Stefan Pochmann's guide to M2 he says that he does it by doing most of an L move then putting his ring finger on the UB edge then doing the L' while continuing the ring finger round to get an extra turn on the M. I dismissed it at first cause it just sounds like you're doing extra moves, but when I tried it I realised it was really fast... and more importantly stable, and didn't require hand repositioning (that I think is common when doing the normal M flicks).

EDIT: Ah yes, here is the quote: "I actually do it as L(l'M') like Joel van Noort once suggested, with my left ring finger pulling the M'."

EDIT2:... on second thoughts, I just tried practicing it... and I can't seem to do it in the H perm, I just totally lose control of my right hand grip. :(

You always just tell me to get out of your room because your attempting a BLD solve. And I know its fast, but I can't seem to get a good double M flick so I am tryin to find a semi good 2gen one. Nevermind I suppose, Ill just try to perfect that double M turn

The way i do the double M turns is to hold the R layer with my right hand, and hold the left layer with my thumb at DFL and my index on DBL. Then i push my ring and middle fingers "through" the M slice, forcing it to move

If you're thinking about the AV, I think you should get it. Its a really great cube, and I prefer its stability over the GuHong or FII. After about a month, I did the memory mod, and now it is amazing. After the mod, cleaning and lubing, it becomes really fast and never locks up, but it still feels stable and in control unlike the GuHong

What does 3x3 MTS stand for?

Also, how do you effectively fingertrick the A perms that start with an x or x' and have D2s in them. (they are badmephisto's algs)

3x3x3 Match The Scramble. You scramble one cube, it's the time to put a solved cube into that scramble state.

I wrist the D2s, but you can also double flick them like you would with a U2, except ring, followed by middle.

If you are tired of your guhong then get an A5, since the lingyun is 95% the exact same as the guhong

thats what i said lol

why is this forum like this for me in Firefox?
I don't have any problem in other browsers.
I still have the problem when I turn off ad blocker.

try resetting your browser to default

What y perm do you guys use? Badmephs? I can't seem to get fast time with it, i love the alg I just wanna be able to sub 2 all my PLL's and this one is giving me trouble (around 2.85)

the double OLL one
(F R U') (R' U' R) (U R' F')
(R U R' U') ( R' F R F')
Except for the last F. very smooth and no regrips. a little practice and easily 2.5s.
just practice it slow ALOT to get it as fluid as possible before you go full speed. Even slow i can sub3 it. :)
