When doing 4x4 I use 2 edge pairing and I Have an average 3x3 time of 35 seconds. Right now I average about three minutes for my 4x4 solves. As of right now my centers and edges are still fairly slow but I am getting better at both. Is a sub two minute time possible assuming my 3x3 time stays in the range it's at? So basically, is it possible to sub 2 the 4x4 using 2 edge pairing and a 3x3 time of around 35-40 seconds? Is sub 1:30 possible?

Suppose a new design for a 4x4x4 came out which had a centre piece attached to the core.
If this piece had a logo on it could you avoid parity by placing the centres according to the logo?
If so would it be legal in the eyes of the WCA?

@ ilikecubing the bottom of the edge piece where it's long and thin has 4 sharp points on it you can sand down to avoid lock ups.

Yes. Though I reccomend you get faster at 3x3 for a sub 1:30 on 4x4

There's no way for a judge/scrambler to tell if a puzzle has been modified like yuu mention if it is in such a way that it allows normal movement of all the slices, still, people could have been doing this for a while now (seems pretty easy to make with glue in a ball core 4x4), but if yuu got caught, I bet it would be somehow penalized by the WCA.

Anybody have a good alg for this case? All the ones on the wiki suck.

Is that one made from Tony Fisher?
Could someone explain this guhong edge mod to me,i can't understand it by watching in the video, what exactly do I have to do the edges of my guhong for the mod.
Take out an edge piece on yoru GuHong. Hold it sideways, so that piece sticking out of the edge lays horizontally. Look on the flat surface of that. It's tiny, but you can see a little sharp lip on it. Look at the edge mod tutorial (the video showing only it) to see it.

Any other recommendations?

Practice centers A LOT. Try advance edge paring methods like 6-6, or 6-3-3.

What are you talking about? I'm asking advice for lube -_-

I used Lubix on the inner core to make the inner layers awesome. My outers are unlubed and it still performed well although I used Lubix on them awhile back. I don't use my Dayan anymore because I have an X-Cube. Why are you using a Dayan over your X-Cube? Or are you just comparing the two?

Mainly comparing. But I don't like how when the xcube pops like I have to reassemble the entire last layer basically. Pops dont happen much on the xcube but when they do they are wayy violent. Although not as funny, the same pop waffo had happens like once every few days. It's not bad cube I just dont want to reassemble my cube everytime it explodes. No tension I set it to helps. The tighter it gets the worse the inner layers are. I tried waffos dayan at his house before a comp and it felt nice..

edit: to clarify, I don't own one yet. I'ts coming
