MF8 v1 is generally considered the best. Don't get the one with the ball core, that's v2 and it's awful.

And what when I take colored centers from a stickerless cube, but black center caps?
You are able to see the color, but not really from other sides.

rofl i think i lucked out. disassembled my shengshou 4x4 that came in on thanksgiving, turns out center pieces have pins, guess that mean i have v3 right? either way, modding to come soooooooooon

I disassembled my 3x4x5 to lubricate it. Unfortunately, when I assembled it back, some of the faces locked up due to the centers not being aligned properly. I have to realign the centers just so I could turn the faces of the cube. How do I fix this problem? From disassembling my cube I got a tiny piece with two studs on it. I think the piece is of use to the cube alignment. If so, how do I attach it to the cube? Thanks. FYI: The version I have doesn't feature screws to the pieces.

To people who own Dayan megaminxes: What general tension have you found works best (tight, medium etc.)? And how have you lubed it (what regions of the puzzle)?

I just got mine and I'm still trying to figure out how to get it to be good.

Very loose. Circle head of screw level with the top of the circular screw hole. Also, just lube everything.

Thanks, but the purple side screw is able to pull itself out of the core. So even though it is screwed in, the whole center piece and many other pieces pop out. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? The screw is fine, so could the core be stripped?

You could either tighten it slightly, take the screw out and re-screw is straighter.

I made it a little tighter than the other sides. And having it really loose works well. It feels unstable, yet can turn very fast. I just set my pb with it.
