Hi, I recently started speecubing. I use Dan Browns method, my record is 1.35 and my average is 1.50. I'm looking to improve by alot. I know all the algorithms but I think I should be using some shortcuts of some sort?
Also my cube isn't lubricated yet, because apparently vaseline eats your cube.
Thanks.

You're right about the Vaseline thing; so I recommend Lubix. It is the most popular lube out there, lasts a long time and is worth the money. Also, as you use Dan Brown's method, this video should help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81ng6qGZGpE. Ignore the vaseline bit.

Just learn whichever one feels best. In some cases, it might be better to learn two different algorithms for the same case, because one algorithm might solve the F2L pair from one angle while the other solves the F2L pair from another angle. This would reduce a cube rotation for some cases.

That's exactly what I was thinking, find my favorite alg for each case and if there is one that solves from a different angle use that too(While working on Intuitive).

Lubix Wholesale

Does anyone want to buy a Lubix wholesale cube with me? If Lubix lets you and there is a discount I want to team up and buy a few ultimate Zhan Chis. My only concern is that they might only offer wholesale to cube stores.

Hello I would like to ask what can I do to get better times. I was using LBL for a long time, then I tryed few different methods and again I'm using LBL. Before orient the centers I attach to one of them 2 edges(x-cross) then I solve first layer and perform last alg.My times are still about 10 seconds. what's wrong. I even found that I can do first layer in one algorythm by attaching 2 edges to one center and then attach last edge to the other center correctly and preventing to destroy those "attachments" I solve centers and FL at time it's hard but it's still don't give me good times.

They're definitely going to offer wholesale values to anybody. That would be like cube stores not offering cubes to non-cubers. It doesn't make sense from a business prospective.

Have you considered how much it will cost to ship the cubes from the person who buys the bundle to each individual, and how that compares to the amount you're saving? It may work out but it sounds like a lot of hassle for a small amount of money.

Having trouble memorizing which 2x2 alg goes with which case. Any tips or suggestions?
For CLL, I assume?
For any CxLL set, the best way to recognize algs is to try to find a few stickers that are the same or opposite in a certain configuration. For example...
visualcube.php

Notice how the URF and ULB stickers are opposite, as well as RFU and UBR.
That's the basic sune. (RUR'URU2R')
You need to come up with your own similar recogs for each case.

I think I'll email Donovan to ask about prices. We would have to determine who the cubes are sent to in the first place to optimize shipping.

unless i read this wrong, you are complaining about having a 10 second solve average?
or are you talking about 10 second x-cross?

because if it's the latter, then inspection planning goes a long way in improving that.

Is your technique plain xcross? If not could you make a vid about it?

Carson, I think each centre piece only can go in one way. The only thing I can think is the core wasn't put together properly (which is unlikely as I assume there wasn't a problem before it popped) or could it be so loose that the centres are moving over the cores alignment bumps? :/

It was working great before the pop, so I'm pretty sure it was assembled correctly. The "alignment bumps" you mention are the problem... When making certain turns, they prevent the cube from turning unless you apply enough force to "force" the center pieces over the bumps. The trouble is that I'm not sure how these bumps should be aligned in relation to one another. I only disassembled one side, so there should only be one of them wrong, but I can't seem to make sense of the setup.

My solves are 10 seconds avg of12. About X -cross as I said I attach 2 edges to one center correctly and for now(i started to train this few days ago) sometimes I'm trying to attach third edge to another center correctly and then i solve centers what actually solve whole layer.then I perform one last alg.

Resolved. One of the centers was rotated 180 degrees.

Can someone give me a list of cube shops that offer a discount in shipping for multiple order?

I don't think there are any. The US sites tend to charge for shipping, the HongKong site's tend to have free shipping (but are frequently much slower). I can't think of a single site that has shipping but goes to free when you buy more. sorry.
If you just want free shipping than almost all the chinese/hongkong site are you best bet... (lightake, etc.)

I'm wanting to get a new timer (speed stacks) and I am wondering what would be the best site to order from? So once all the expenses are paid, what website is going to be my best option? By the way, I live in Australia.

There is no clear cut answer for this one. I would just check the wiki for links to all of the cube stores, and open them all (along with speedstacks) and check to see who is cheaper. This is going to depend on who is running sells and what the current shipping deals are. If you don't need the port for a display, you could probably find one at a chain store if have one nearby. You also may find them at an online retailer shipping locally, so you could save quite a bit on shipping.
