what makes mass produced puzzles cheaper? the plastic either way costs the same amount.

I would say probably the cost of production (machinery, people etc.). If you mass-produce something, you do it more efficently than if you did them by hand. More efficency -> lower costs of production -> Lower selling price -> :D

If they where to use them the records wold change alot because the new timers have a new time like 23.234 the older ones go 23.23 newer ones are more accurate on the time and I dont know about them having a data port hole

The new timers do have a data port.
What I'm actually wondering about is, that the "older" timers won't be available for ever, so at some point the new timers will have to be used?
Maybe they have foreseen this, and they are planning making some regulations about using it in competition.
An example could be that the times taken from a new speed stacks timer should be rounded of, like 23.234 becomes 23.23 & 23.236 becomes 23.24.

Maby you should talk to Mike Hughey

Why me? What do I have to do with anything?

As far as I know, no ruling has been specifically made by the WCA on this. The rules would seem to indicate that they're legal, since the rules simply say:
8a7) The authentic Speedstacks Stackmat timer (at least Generation 2) must be used for time measurement.

But there are no rules yet on how to handle the extra digit, so I would guess that the WCA would be unhappy with these timers being used yet. I have a feeling the rules should be amended to prevent them until the handling of the extra digit is decided.

Best method to solve a 4x4? I don't like Yau :(.. Michael told me that he use Reduction, but I see a lot of variations 3-2-1.. 1-2-3..xD

Any good tips for learning F2L algorithms?

Is there any way to download those animated java scripts of f2l algs in wiki page?

Is there anything that can provide scrambles for 4x4, but with the centers solved? I would like to focus on my edge pairing.
Thanks!
Yes, the new version of qqTimer can do this. Under scrambles, find "Specialty Scrambles" and select "Bigcube subsets". In the second menu pick "4x4 edges". Lowercase letters are wide turns, not slices.

The plastic may not cost the same (depending on how the non mass produced puzzle is made) whoever the plastic supplier is is bound to charge less per weight for someone buying several tons, than for smaller amounts (it's basic incentives for people to buy in bulk). Also a large amount of the expense goes into setting up the initial production (creating the molds etc.), then after it's all set up doing further copies is a lot cheaper... so the more you make the lower the average cost is per unit.
Though if by non-mass produced puzzles, you are thinking of something like Oskar's shapeways puzzles, then that's an entirely different thing. With 3D printing it's far easier to set up, but much slower to make one copy (and so more expensive), but still cheaper than it would be to make up the molds and prepare the machines for say injection molding. So 3d printing is much cheaper for doing one or two copies, but still really expensive per unit, so impractacl for mass production.

Any good tips for learning F2L algorithms?

Try to follow the corner/edge pair and see how they move about during the algorithm. When you understand how they move, and why the move to the places that they do, then you'll not actually need to learn the algorithm, and will be more comfortable doing it left handed (or mirrored for inserting in the back slots)

How to Look Ahead?

Hi, can someone give me some tips or videos on looking ahead. Many people just say 'look ahead' but it doesn't help me. I currently use roux and I average in the 40s. Any help is appreciated.

edit: Thanks for the tips.

There really isn't much to it apart from exactly what it says. Look ahead of the solve. So, once you know where the pieces for what you are doing, do not concentrate on that, and look for pieces in the next step of your solution.
