Agree, the first thing I would work on is getting your centers down to around 20 seconds, then learning a more advanced edge method, thats how I got sub-90

you could also try puzzle timer its an offline timer on your computer and is GREAT!

AVS Video Editor Free Trial is nice. It puts in water marks from 0:00-1:00 and 3:00-4:00 (and probably other places if you make longer videos), but I put dead space there and edit it out later in WMM.

I'd usually never agree with WMM, but for what you say you need to do, you're better off using it.

i saw that you get a 2 sec penalty for not completing 1 move so is there a four sec penalty for not doing the last two moves and so on? and for what events does this rule apply? couls i just not solve the cube at all and take a 20 move penalty for a 40 second time?

If it is 2 or more moves, it is considered a DNF. (Did not finish). No time goes in for those solves.
