Ive soldered my pins in my v6 very nicely and have had them in for a long time. The grooves are fully made and the peices no longer "lift up" when you turn a face. however, i have come across a little problem. The pins have made such deep grooves that when i move the cube along the axis with the pins, the mechanism moves slightly into the round groove before catching onto the plastic. It no longer hits the side of the centerpeice, but goes under. This doesnt usually cause total lock ups, but it makes a click and requires more force. It can become very annoying.
I think my pins were too long, and now the radius of the groove is rather large, bigger than what monkeydude showed in his video. If they were shorter, this problem might not have come up.
I suppose that this could be countered by putting in longer pins --- but that will just keep wearing out the grooves making the plastic thinner, and probably returning back to the way it is now after a lot of use.
Anyone else have this problem? Fixes? Or maybe anyone have spare center pieces i could buy?
