Focus on one pair at a time. If you spot a green white piece and go looking around for it, dont change your mind during that process (unless you see a really easy case). You just need to get the edge pieces in the 2 middle layers on different levels and slice until they match. Don't focus on getting them next to each other so that a 90 degree slice is enough since it doesnt matter what happens to the 4 centers. You can slice however you want.

Other than that, practise practise practise.

I never focus on a single pair, rather scan for pairs. Often the first edge I find is not the first pair I'll see.

Is there a good and efficient way to practice solving the cross? Atm I'm really tired and out of shape with the 3x3 so my average has somehow dropped to like 24 seconds. However my average without the cross is 17.5 seconds. Shouldnt I be able to do sub 3 crosses if I want to go sub 20? And how do I get there? My F2L is decent and so is my OLL/PLL, seems like the cross and the first F2L pair are screwing up my solves.

Any ideas?

I know that feel. I did literally close to a thousand crosses on the potty and everywhere, and I still couldn't get the hang of it. I don't remember, but at some point it just kind of clicked, and my cross has been pretty much optimal since then. Just keep at it. Plan a cross with as little moves as possible first, don't settle for anything <9 moves. You are free to backtrack as often as you like to figure out the best way to do a particular case. When you're comfortable with that, just plan the whole thing in your head and execute it in one go. It'll become sort of automatic, and the number of ways a cross can be formed are only this many, and the only problem and barrier after that is just lookahead.

I got a V-cube 7 and damn is it stiff (the closer to the core the worse it gets, naturally). I used CRC when I was stupid and inexperienced so I just had to take it apart and clean every single piece. I lubed some of the pieces with a mix of 40k diff oil and then poured some 20k shock oil in without a little if any effect. The stickers have chipped and are crap in general so I thought that I'd buy some new ones and maybe try to sell it.

It's a solid white V-cube 7 that has been solved under 50 times (rough estimate). Should I sticker it with a half bright or full bright set and should I put black or white stickers? After all this how much can I ask for the puzzle? I'm probably going to buy a SS 7x7 since I've heard its better.

half brights are pretty nice looking with black on a white cube.

Vcubes need a bit of breaking in, so I didn't put lube in mine until I had played around with it for like a week.

As for pricing, I'd think 35 USD would be the highest I would pay. Just my opinion though.
