Anyone have the new WitEden 4x4

or Dayan + MF8 version VI?

If you mean version IV, as in the 66mm v2, I have one.

It seems better than the version 3, based on videos that I've seen. (I don't have the version 3.) However, the outer layers seem too loose to me. I don't know of a way (if there is one) to tighten only the outer layers. I don't think that the edges can pop out as easily as they could with the first version.

Also, for some reason, the torpedo-like pieces in the edges are loose. When you take an edge out, the torpedo-like piece can be moved around a little bit. The inner layers are good.

Was the 5x5 WR set with yau5 or redux?

Also, how I can improve at yau? I tend to average 1:45 with two sub-1:30 solves. My 3x3 avg is like 21-22. Idk how to get faster. I need to get sub-1:30. My main problem is cross edges and parity. I am really slow at cross edges. Plus my oll parity alg takes 6 seconds. What is a good, fast alg?

I think most if not all of the fast cubers use this one Rw U2 x Rw U2 Rw U2 Rw' U2 Lw U2 Rw' U2 Rw U2 Rw' U2 Rw'.

How do you guys shorten your springs?

I wouldn't. The reason is that you will have a sharp end that is bound to scratch the plastic within the core. The springs are finished with a "circle" at the end so that no sharp surfaces remain to scratch the plastic or whatever it touches. If you have to, just cut them and try to press the ends of the springs with a plier.

Is there a good and efficient way to practice solving the cross? Atm I'm really tired and out of shape with the 3x3 so my average has somehow dropped to like 24 seconds. However my average without the cross is 17.5 seconds. Shouldnt I be able to do sub 3 crosses if I want to go sub 20? And how do I get there? My F2L is decent and so is my OLL/PLL, seems like the cross and the first F2L pair are screwing up my solves.

Any ideas?

How can I improve my 3 cross edges in yau. I avg like 15-20 just on that.

Focus on one pair at a time. If you spot a green white piece and go looking around for it, dont change your mind during that process (unless you see a really easy case). You just need to get the edge pieces in the 2 middle layers on different levels and slice until they match. Don't focus on getting them next to each other so that a 90 degree slice is enough since it doesnt matter what happens to the 4 centers. You can slice however you want.

Other than that, practise practise practise.
