What method am I using?

I am currently practicing a method for the 2x2, but when my friends ask me what method I'm using I cant answer.

Heres what I do to solve the cube.

1. Solve a first side.
2. Do the algorithim for one of seven cases on the other side (OLL?)
3. Use one of four algorithims to Permute Both Layers (PBL)

So am I using Fridrich or Ortega??

Thanks

You are not allowed to write down M since the 2013 regulations, you have to right it in Outer Block Turn Metric, which only covers outer moves and not slices. I got DNFed at Hessen Open at the start of the year because of it

that's a bit harsh. are wide turns allowed?

How exactly does breaking a cube in by solving it a bunch of times make it faster? I don't understand this concept.

By solving it a bunch the plastic gets a bit worn in due to the friction, as opposed to being brand new and all, the plastic still as smooth as a baby's tushie. Some of the moulding imperfections of the plastic (little bits get left behind due to improper cutting etc) will also get shaved down, because it's not supposed to be there. Lubing while breaking in will also distribute the lube evenly throughout the cube. The basic idea of breaking in is to wear the plastic in a little to make it more receptive of vigorous and high speed turning.

New cuber just broke my best time by a lot

Well, I've literally only been cubing for 5 days, on impulse I bought a QJ speedcube and a 2x2 shengshou. In my serious compulsion to want to start cubing I also bought an original rubiks while I waited for the better cubes to get here. Anyway my average time right now is 2:01, and I just got a new record and I'm ecstatic about it. My biggest concern is that I may have done a crappy scramble but upon my initial look, it looked well scrambled to me. Does anyone have any advice on getting a good scramble before hand?
