So I came up with my own 3x3 method and I want to see how fast I can get it. Unfortunately I need some new algorithms. I was wondering if there is a program where you can just fill in certain stickers on the cube and have it generate an algorithm just to solve those stickers. For example, for OLL you would put in the F2L and the top color sticker positions but tell it not to worry about the other stickers on the LL cubies. Does such a program exist, or do I need to attempt *shudder* trial and error?
[wiki]acube[/wiki] might help you. Here is a thread.

Thank you, but I would rather keep it to myself until I am able to work it out better.

EDIT: I tried to input just the stickers I wanted solved in ACube, but it didn't work.

Sure thing.

I can't seem to get the GUI-version to work, either.
I use this version, and use this to know what to input into the commandline..

Your links do not work...

EDIT: Thanks for fixing them, but it turns out that this program won't quite work for me because it makes you put in both stickers for an edge whereas the sequences I need only focus on one sticker of each edge.

On the topic of SQ-1 how can I improve on my time to get sub 1 min avg?
The best thing you can do is to keep practising, learn full CO and CP if you don't know them already, try to lower the number of twists to solve cubeshape (maybe by watching David Woner's Advanced Cubeshape tutorial) and try to solve EP in less algs by using adj-adj more efficiently, and learning other EPs like opp-opp, H perm, Z perm, opp-adj and adj-opp, etc.

Afterwards you can learn CP parity, which solves parity while you solve CP, lowering the total number of EP cases from hundreds down to about 60.

about Sexy Method

http://www.speedsolving.com/wiki/index.php/Sexy_Method

Just curious about the solving order listed on that page.

My experiment on a similar way is to solve all 12 edges first, then using sexy move for corners (3+3+2). Clean and simple.

My question is: are there any benefit from the interlaced order listed on that page? (edges, corners, edges, corners...)

Any help?

Whats the difference between the Qj megaminx v1 and v2? same goes for the mf8, between v1 and v2..

v2 are a lot better/faster/smoother for both brands compared to the v1.

EDIT: next question
Are there any tutorials on how to solve the middle layer of a super square 1? I managed to solve the top/bottom layers but not the middle.

Where can I buy mefferts megaminx tiles only? I don't want to buy cubesmith megaminx stickers/tiles, because the colors are weird and when I buy customs, they send me two of every color, and I don't want that. I'm also open to buying mf8 tiles, but the center tiles are bigger than he mefferts megaminx centers. However, I heard simone has mf8 tiles on a mefferts.

So I just need to know where I can buy a set of mefferts tiles or mf8 tiles, or find out how to put mf8 tiles on a mefferts.

@TheMachanga

You can buy Mf8 tiles off of Mf8.com but they charge you up the ass for them($6). I bet you could contact Mefferts through email and arrange something to buy a set. I am not sure how much they would cost though.
