Depends on the metric used. Most of the time you'll be using HTM, in which U2 (and all other double turns) count as one move. This is the metric the WCA uses, so in competitions a U2 counts as a +2 and not a DNF.

So If I'm checking my number of moves,I should take double turns as one movecount?

I would say Roux. Or petrus. Block building methods.
Roux for FM? Enjoy your 2-HTM M-slice turns. Use whatever blockbuilding you need to do to reduce the cube to a few pieces.

Redownload it. Make sure you have Flash installed. Click the .Jar file to open.
Flash? PPT uses Java. Right click the .jar file and open it with Java.

Yes, U2 is one move in HTM.

I just noticed how slow my F2L is, and I'm wondering a way of practicing F2L alone....

Yes I know, look ahead, I'm looking for a way of practicing F2L.

Hey all, I got a stackmat timer (Seems like n older version, Cuz it only has power and reset) yet, it doesn't seem to turn on. Is it supposed to be a hold the power button and turn on or just press or what should it be?

Thanks

Pull off the back (the two pieces are connected by magnets, so don't be afraid to pull hard).
Then on the main piece you will see a circular thing with a slot in it. Open that up (using a coin may help). Make sure it has a battery in it.
That's likely the reason why it won't turn on.

It does. Still not working.

Except, I might be turning it on wrong. How do you properly turn it on? My guess is press and hold.

I don't understand why this thing didn't come with instructions.

You only need to press it, no holding, so it should come on right away, even if you continue to hold the power button down.

Unless it is defective, the only thing that could possibly be wrong is the battery. Try putting in a new battery I guess. Also check to make sure it is oriented properly (+ and – are in the correct spots)

Where can I find the rest of the alg's for the skewb method here http://pages.cs.brandeis.edu/~storer/JimPuzzles/RUBIK/Skewb/SkewbSolutionACubist.pdf? I tried all kind of searching and stuff, but the "acubist" site has been transformed into a cash advance site. I really like the look of this method, and I'm more concerned with enjoying the solve than speed. The pdf that I linked is a good start, but it cuts off parts of the page and I don't know where to find the remaining algs.

Thanks in advance, you folks rock!

Bump :)

Best magic and master magic?

Does anyone have any tips on improving OLL/PLL TPS? I average around 20 seconds and my LL is about 8 seconds of that :/ -- I use 2 Look OLL/Full PLL, should I just try to relearn some algorithms I can execute faster? Any recommendations, etc?

I'm sure the delegate would throw out the judge right away, and probably give you an extra attempt if they never said 8 seconds or go

That's pretty much the only scrambling method that's helpful for practicing F2L. Or were you asking specifically for techniques on how to practice F2L?

Well, how I should put it is...

I'm efficient when I REALLY slow down, and look ahead, but I'm trying to find a way of practicing looking ahead, and getting faster while doing it.
