I'm trying to get into fewest moves solving and got 51 moves with CFOP which is obviously inefficient. My question is, what method do most people learn when first starting out with fewest moves? What method would you recommend?

Heise or Petrus for example. You will get around 40 moves with those. Later on you should learn some techniques like insertions, reverse scramble, etc. See the FMC thread for lots of examples.

I use my storebought Rubik on a daily basis, since my F-II makes wayyy too much noise and I really don't want to drive people crazy during my bus ride. I just got some 50K Traxxas oil. Is it worth it to put some in, or am I better off with vaseline? Thanks!

Vaseline = Cube killer. Put the Traxxas in, and your cube will make less noise.

I'd recommend buying a Zhanchi instead of using the storebought, but either way, don't use vaseline, it's really not a good idea. I imagine some Traxxas would help, but keep in mind it's not like vaseline; you just use a few drops between the core and the center pieces.

Yup, I know, but my cube is almost 25 years old (it was my dad's), so it's nearly indestructible. I already had to Crazy glue a piece that had shattered in 5 pieces...

Is it really silent? I do use my cube during classes, it helps me to stay focus when I play with something. And I really doubt my uni teachers would appreciate it if there was a background noise...

It's pretty quiet, it may make a little bit of noise, but not too distracting. If you REALLY want quiet, I always found Ghosthands to be particularly quiet, although they're not as good as a Zhanchi.

Example Scramble for 2x2x2:

U' F U' F U F2 R2 F'

You see, red and Orange are both OCLL cases. Is there a set of algortihms, that solves both sides at once with a single algortihms for Ortega?

The Example Scramble is wrong, but I hope you get what I mean. I mean Cases, that can appear as a single OCLL case on LL
