34.4 f2l movecount average of 12. Some freefop solves, some strict Fridrich. Not much time spent thinking, pretty much the first thing I saw most of the time.

Wow, I come back and there are so many replies! :)

Averaging in the low 30's (or less) should be achievable by people who are good at F2L.

I have three questions here:
1) Do you know of any fast cubers whose F2L + cross movecount is in the low 30s / sub 30?
2) Would the solver have to be color neutral, or is it possible to have a low movecount using the same cross color?
3) Are the F2L slots solved in the order the solver sees them, or optimally with some multislotting or other advanced techniques?

Sorry, what is freefop?

Avg - 38.3 moves; Mean - 38 moves

This is what my average is also.

anyway, I've been fluxuating from 17-22 second solves. I counted my F2L+cross move amount and saw that the faster solves were the ones with 30ish movecount. So I'm trying to lower my movecount. Expermimenting with Roux, too. :)

For ZZ, could you just orient the 8 F2L edges instead of all 12 and then have to do full OLL instead of just the second step of 2-look (I don't know the term for that OLL subset)?

I want to make 4x4x4 centers efficient, but when I google I just find advanced edge pairing or very basic centers.
Are there even advanced techniques/tipps for centers? Can anyone give me a link?

Also, how important is CN on centers?

I can answer your last question. Quite important.
On your way you WILL discover many of your own new techniques though.
Maybe watch felik's walkthroughs to get an idea?

His approach was surprisingly simple actually, to me at least.

Good to see you experimenting with other methods! Stuff you discover from them can be used in your main, too :)
Be sure to focus on low movecount with Roux. Don't stick to F2L-ish solutions. Exploit the fact there's no cross!
And yes, in CFOP it's also important to be efficient. I almost see F2L as more block-building.

Whats the best place to get a zhanchi quality wise, like a modded zhachi from puzzles addictions or a lubix one or some where else

I guess I stand corrected on the F2L movecount thing. I was just thinking of all the example solutions in the Accomplishment Thread, but then I guess by their nature they're quite lucky solves.

I don't think Izovire is selling modded Zhanchi's at the moment, so if you really want a modded one you should get it from Lubix.

On his site theres something called zhanchi(modded) and from what i understand that is a zhanchi with his corner and center cap mod and is lubed with some izolube or something
