As long as you started with the correct stringing pattern, it should be solvable if the rings are connected on the front with all the colours consistent. Here is a picture, although small. If you can't solve it, you probably strung it starting with the wrong pattern (I think you start with D but I could be wrong).

Really I need a picture of the back because there are 2 pairs of identical tiles if you look at hte front face. thanks anyway.

Just a curious thought.

What is the longest algorithm for any puzzle that is required to solve it?

All I can think or is sq1 parity, but I'm sure there is longer.

wtf ??? Sorry but your question just makes no sense. There is no such thing as a "required" alg to solve anything, since there qre various methods for each puzzle using completely different algs.

About square-1 parity, it could as well be fixed during cubeshape, by using two different algs for each shape depending on the permutation. Ok being able to tell the parity state of the cube during imspection time iis probably really hard, but it's still possible.

If you are looking at the front:
(bottom row)The one of the identical tiles which has 3 ring segments (red/white, red/white, and red/yellow for me) on the back should be on the right.
(top row) The one of the identical tiles which has the logo on the back should be on the right. (also has a green/blue ring segment for me)
Not sure if colours change between magics.

Hopefully that's understandable.

Which is the fastest method to solve the 2x2 cube with?

2x2 is funny, in that a lot of methods work in very different ways, and cause there aren't many moves in a solution it's really good to know lots of different methods so you can take advantage of good starting positions. Most of the fast solvers use CLL (42 Algs), But then when they've got a handle of it, sometimes expand it by learning variaions (EG1, EG2, AntiCLL - each about 40Algs). I think Faz uses CLL and AntiCLL.
Although Ortega and Guimond can be really fast (and have very few algs). Ortega is certainly worth knowing as you can learn it in an hour or two.

I take it you don't realize that sq1 parity can be fixed (from square shape) with only 8 twists

if have good reconition all the WRs have been btroken with CLL though,

So if you don't have good recognition, then the WRs haven't been broken with CLL?

Yeah thanks, I realised that I was holding it upside-down which is why I couldn't solve it. :D

Sometimes when im solving i have great times my fingers move fast and i can lookahead really well with little effort. I get like 14's low 15's and quite a few sub 14's. however other times my hands feel stiff i lockup i cant lookahead at all and i get like 16-20. with the occasional 15 or under. Sometimes i get right in the middle like 14.5-17. Is there anything i can do to reduce the bad feel and get more consistent and good solves or will this part of nature and it will always be like this.

do some warm-ups before you speedsolve, that way your hands can react quicker while doing your solves.

Right i couldn't decide whether or not this should go in the blindfold section but anyway. My question is Do you know a good EASY memory method for blindsolving a 3x3 a have learnt how the pochmann method works and i can use it to solve the cube my problem is when it comes to memorizing. I have tried a story method and a letter method neither have i managed to get the hang of.

Any help will be great.

I would recommend visual. It's very easy, especially when combined with classic Pochmann or M2/R2 (at least for me).

Does anyone know of a way to solve this F2L case that's faster than rotating and using U2 R U' R' U' y L' U L?
