What does prepared solve mean?

That means you have already done the scramble before (maybe several times) so know which case you'll get at each point. People sometimes do prepared solves just to see how fast they could go if they weren't looking for pieces... or to cheat on youtube.

I've been using the beginner LBL method for pyraminx for a long time now, and I average around 13-14 seconds. I think its probably time to learn a new method if i want to get much faster, what methods are the best pyraminxers using these days? If you could post a tutorial too, that'd be nice

Well, I think it would depend on what you're doing. If it's a method tutorial, it probably doesn't matter. If you're doing a modding tutorial, it would be harder to see on a black cube.
