Gotta be kidding me..

Inner Slice Moves (adjacent slice of outer slice only):
12a9) Clockwise, 90 degrees: f, b, r, l, u, d. (see 12a1).

Well, in that case, mea culpa.

I got something interesting while solving 3*3*3..

Every piece is solved except for two adjacent edge pieces which happen to be flipped the wrong way.. It looks like this. Any alg for this?
Do you like to moo?

(M' U M U) (M' U M' U) (M' U M U) (M' U M' U)
or replace U with U' if more comfortable
(M' U' M U') (M' U' M' U') (M' U' M U') (M' U' M' U')

can also be looked at like this:
(M' U) (M U) (M' U)3 (M U) (M' U)2
or this:
((M' U M U) (M' U M' U))2

or two common OLLs (ELLs)
(r U R' U') R r' (U R U' R') (r' U' R U) r R' (U' R' U R)
can also be looked at like this:
M' (R U R' U') M (U R U' R') M (R' U' R U) M' (U' R' U R)

Feliks Zemdegs' Lookahead, God given talent or a crapload of practice?

In the discussion of Feliks as one of the fastest turners the subject of his lookahead was brought up and compared to M. Jordan so I wondered do most think he has a God given lookahead or do you think that he realized long time ago that this would be important and worked extra hard at it?

He worked extra hard.

Need Tips to reach sub 40

Currently my average is 1:40. My personal best is 1:19. I am using a store-bought Rubik's cube (looks similar to the available one's at Rubik's.com) lubed with vaseline. I solve the cube by solving f2l intuitively and then using 2 look OLL and 2 look PLL. Please give me tips to reach sub 40.

1.Should I buy any speedcubes now or it will be better to buy later when I improve my average?
2.Should I learn full PLL now or later?

Welcome to the forums. Firstly, can I recommend not using vaseline... petrolium based products will slowly melt away at the plastic in the cube, and commonly cause the core to snap. The most common lubes at the moment are silicone oils which as sold in hobby shops (I think for remote controlled cars) and are labeled 'shock oil' and 'diff oil' (Traxxes is a common brand). Or there are lots of good lubes online like Lubix or maru lube.

The answers to your questions are: whenever you like. There is no set time that someone should buy a new cube or learn new methods, just whenever they're comfortable doing so. Some people (like me) bought a good cube as soon as possible and went into PLL from day 2, others have waited months before doing either of those things.

My philosophy has been not to waste time doing something that I'll be discarding later, so I saw no point in getting good at a slow method. But if you don't enjoy learning new algs, and find that you're forcing yourself to learn them, then it could kill your motivation which would be bad. So just learn stuff at a nice pace that you're comfortable with.

There is a lot of debate about buying new cubes early, but I'm quite confident that the best advice is to just get as good a cube as you can early (not one that you intend to throw away after a few months for something better). The top cubes at the moment are the Dayan ZhanChi, Dayan GuHong V2, and Dayan LingYun V2. They all have slightly different feels, but the difference is minimal, they are all excellent and whichever you buy I'm sure you'll love.
Good luck getting your speeds down :)

How to get faster at solving the rubik's cube (3x3x3)

I have tried searching for this, but most of the threads are 1 - 3 years old.

I am currently having an average of ~ 1 minute 39 seconds for solving the cube.
My shortest is 1min 28sec.
I know, a lot of time.

I solve using Fridrich method (CFOL) but I use 2Look OLL and 2Look PLL.

When I measured, I found that I was taking ~24 to 30 seconds for the cross, and 30 to 40 seconds for F2L.
In comparison, I can do LL in ~ 22 to 28 seconds (with 4LLL, ie, 2Look OLL + 2Look PLL)

So, where can I improve?
Can Anyone give me tutorials or something

BTW, I use a local cube (no brand), but it turns better than a rubik's brand for sure.
Also, sometimes it just EXPLODES :(
I have ordered a new C4U DIY, I'm Waiting for it to arrive :D.

I would recommend speeding up your cross, since it seems pretty slow. Here is Crazybadcuber's advanced cross tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcacSzrpMg8&feature=plcp
I would also recommend basic things such as working specifically on speeding up your f2l, since a CFOP solve time is widely determined on how fast your f2l is, which can be done by increasing turns per second and working on being able to look ahead to find other pieces for your next pair as you are doing a pair. You might also want to consider learning full PLL in the near future.
