Not sure if this is the right place for this but here goes. I average 26s using CFOP.

I was wondering do most people execute the PLL without aligning it first (if that makes sense)? So for instance I always align my headlights in G perms before executing and I spot all of my PLLs by first aligning some part of the upper face.

Am I supposed to be able to recognise them all without doing this?

Most advanced cubers can recognise easily PLL cases using patterns but many others just align then execute.

I can recognise a few cases using certain patterns but most of the time I line up the colour then do the PLL. :)

I'd recommend trying to get used to recognizing them without aligning them first, it will save you unneeded moves and time. For G perms you could look for the headlights and then just try to find where the 2x1 block is in relation to that. If there are any you don't know how to recognise just ask here and someone can give you tips.

Thanks guys. I've also seen people mentioning AUFing in relation to PLL what does this mean? People often say "are you doing the PLL without AUFing" but I have no idea what this means!

Are most people who use 2 look oll and most of the pll's sub 20?

No. I average 26 and know full PLL and 2LOLL. Actually I found my times went significantly higher when I learnt full PLL at first (I was averaging about 32 with 2LPLL) but they have started to come down now as I recognise the cases quicker.

Specific OLL Scrambler?

I was searching around and failed to locate a scrambler that will scramble specific OLLs.

I know that Prisma has an OLL scrambler, but that scrambles for all 57 OLLs.

I'm looking for a scrambler where I can input a list of 4 or 5 OLLs and it will generate scrambles for only those OLLs. I'm trying to learn OLLs in groups, and this kind of scrambler would help me distinguish OLLs in the same "groups."

Is there some kind of scrambler out there that can do this?

Edit:
That's actually really awesome. Thank you.

So i have my tiled qj 4x4. And i loosened the screw in the center of the core and that helped a lot! But i still have grinding and locking up. Theres a lot less, but still some. I know there are some mods i do, but i heard something about my core coming out of alignment. What does that mean? is it a possible factor on why my cube locks? if so, how do i fix it?

(Sorry for posting this again guys)

The reason the qj 4x4 locks up is because it does not have a screw-spring structure like others eg. the shengshou. The core coming out of alignment is where the internal pieces are not in line with the externals. You would know if this happened as the cube would not turn along some of the axes. As far as the grinding is concerned, lube would get rid of that, but rly, imo getting a new, better 4x4 is the ideal solution, the qj is not very good

Yeah ive learned that. I put some jig a loo on it, and it and did improve it. I also adjusted the tension and that had a good result. Its really loose now. It just locks up a lot. In the future ill probably have to give in and buy a maru. If it didnt lock up, it would be a great cube.

Why not buy a Shengshou?
