but in this mod, you take a bunch more out of the corners

When I modded my 5x5, before Florian released his tutorial and when I only have pictures as reference, I do the V5 mod, which is cutting away the bumps on the corner bases, rounding the corner stalks, and creating the dips under the corners like in a Zhanchi/Guhong.

Can someone tell me if I should switch to Roux?I currently average around 45s with CFOP(4lll). I am ok with building blocks(fridrich way). Should I go ahead and learn CMLL and switch to Roux?
PS-Can anyone suggest good mods for Dayan Zhanchi and storeboughts?
Thanks!

Have a look at Roux and see what you think; if you want to switch, then switch; if you don't, then don't. It seems that you have a lot of potential with CFOP (I'm sub-30 with a 4LLL, so it's definitely possible).

Where do I need to improve?

Code:
solve	step1	step2	step3	step4	total
1	8.80	12.14	2.15	10.81	33.90
2	5.64	10.29	3.23	10.68	29.84
3	3.62	11.53	3.05	11.16	29.36
4	10.92	8.08	5.93	9.56	34.49
5	7.08	8.44	4.37	9.31	29.20
avg	7.21	10.10	3.75	10.30	31.36

step 1 = first block
step 2 = second block
step 3 = CMLL
step 4 = LSE

I'm no Roux pro but I say LSE

Second block.
And your LSE.

How much does the 48 point edge mod really help a guhong v2? Does it just make it smoother or does it actually make it faster?

Range
step 1 = 7.30
step 2 = 4.06
step 3 = 3.78
step 4 = 1.85
Total range=16.99sec

You should work on consistancy and lookahead if your solve can variate by about 17 seconds. Also, work on your first block because it should be much faster if you can plan it during inspection.

Wheeee roux! I avg sup 1, but avg around the same as you for LSE. Hmm, work on it I guess. :D

So, I recently heard that it is actually good to not time every solve, do like 2-3 days where you do un-timed solves and then do a big timed average. I tried this by not doing any timed solves yesterday or the day before and went and did about 100 timed solves. What I noticed was that I became far less consistent and average dropped about 3 seconds. I was just wondering if this is typical? Am I maybe just having a bad day? Typically (like last week) I averaged about 23.5-24 seconds and the vast majority of my times fell between 20 and 27 seconds (with just the odd good/bad time out of that range). The average of 100 I did today was 27.38 seconds and my times were anywhere from 20 to 35 seconds, with only about 5 solves out of that range (a lucky 16; 19, 19, 38, 41). 30 second times were happening like 1 in 3 solves or so on average whereas a few days ago they would happen like 1 in 50 solves, quite rare and usually just from like mis-slotting or spending too much time trying to remember a new OLL.
So this happen to any one else, any one have any comments on this?

What should I focus my efforts on the most other than cross? I'm currently using Fridrich with 4LLL, and average low 20s. My solve breaks down like:
Cross: 3.97
F2L: 10.35
OLL: 3.57
PLL: 4.81

I'm thinking I should make my cross more efficient, and then learn full PLL. Then I can learn advanced cross/f2l things like X-Cross.

Ya I would definitely learn full PLL. I average about 24 seconds myself and think my breakdown is something like:
cross: ~3-4s
F2L: ~13s
2L OLL: ~3s
PLL: ~3-4s

While your F2L seems pretty good compared to mine and others averaging about that time, it is still like half your solve time and improvements can be made. But ya, you could probably shave a second or 2 off your pll times easily and if you are thinking about learning full OLL that can help as well. Of course this is just some advice based on a few numbers, can't really go too in depth.

Are there any timers out there with case specific 3x3 lasy-layer scramblers?

I'm learning CMLL. I'd love it if I could tell a scrambler the cases I know and then have it randomly generate a scramble that results in one of those cases. I feel like this would be really helpful for working on recognition of cases I've already learned but leaving out the ones I don't know yet.
