When I was at around 30 seconds total time my cross was appalling at around 6-10 seconds every time, that's the minimum you'd expect for building your cross on the bottom. I've worked on doing it in the fewest moves now, and I use my inspection time, and it's gone down to 2-4 seconds every time.

This is all anecdotal evidence, but it's the best you'll be able to get. In general, cross on the bottom is better, and experience coupled with using inspection time properly to plan it in the fewest moves will bring it down a lot. You probably won't see immediate results, but I'd strongly recommend you start now.

what is better to practice: cross on bottom or learn intuitive f2l/4LLL from different angles ?
or maybe both ? what order would be preferable ?

Intuitive F2L 100%. Cross on bottom will help, but intuitive F2L will reduce your times much more. And also, I'm sub-30 with a 4LLL, so 40-49 seconds is way too early to learn PLL IMO. But, we all improve at different speeds in different ways, so if you find it easier to learn PLL at 40 seconds, then by all means do.

I am going to assume you have a Mf8 VII.

Shaving all excess plastic on the corners, edges, and centers.
Lube and retension the core.
Do AV corner mod to the corners.
Do the same thing to the four edges of the edges.
Do the same thing to the five edges of the centers.

Makes a megaminx great.

My white v-cube 5 is horrible. It does not even compare even a little bit to my ShengShou. I have seen people have V-cube 5's that are amazing. What do I have to do to get mine so that I would acutally touch it? I lubed it with Maru, but it didn't do anything.

V-cubes take a long time to break in. Just use it, and lubricate it. Every once in a while, just wipe out the lube, and relube it.

Wow. Thank you so much. Me and my friend were trying to work one out for ages, and then you come out with a 7 move xxcross and 9 move white xxcross, as well as the xcross we couldn't find. You never fail to amaze me with these reconstructions, and they actually helped with xcrosses in general for me as well.

Can someone tell me if I should switch to Roux?I currently average around 45s with CFOP(4lll). I am ok with building blocks(fridrich way). Should I go ahead and learn CMLL and switch to Roux?
PS-Can anyone suggest good mods for Dayan Zhanchi and storeboughts?

That basically is Florian's mod. The whole idea of his mod is to make a Zhanchi out of the 5x5. The corners, wing edges and center corners are sculpted/sanded/cut to resemble Zhanchi pieces.

I have a white QJ megaminx v2 with those super cheap "stickers". I took the stickers off and realized there's this layer of slightly yellow stuff that's behind after using crc to get the sticker residue off. The yellow stuff can be taken off (with a lot of force) with my fingernails. Am I supposed to take the yellow stuff off? If so, how?
