To your LL-comp:
I think inspection time is stupid. In a normal solve you don't have an inspection time.
Rule Nr. 3 should be something like this: Scramble without looking at the cube. Shut your eyes. Open them when starting the timer => Solve and stop the timer.
This way, you would have to do AUF as usual and the same recognition time is needed. Result: Your LL time will be as it would normally be, and not faster.
That's just how I think about it, but otherwise good idea.

If you mention this with your results, we can see what other think about this and it could be changed for Round 16. Only reason that it can't be done earlier is because it would have a negative affect on the overall leaderboard for 5 rounds.

And what does AUF stand for?

Oh i'm freakin tired of cubing!!
I mean i still cube without timing myself.
but..........
when i cube with a timer I can't even do 12 solves!!
I go crazy!!!
and i haven't cubed much for more than a month!!
What the hell should I do!!

What times do you usually get? What cube do you use?

Unless your lookahead sucks, yes you do.

Anyway, inspection is included by tradition. The point is, what you are actually timing is how fast you can execute the algorithms to solve the last layer, not timing how long it takes for you to solve the last layer in a solve.

Keep moaning about it and hope you improve?

Just practice. You would've gotten worse (or better weirdly in some cases) over a month of not cubing. You need to get used to it again. Not much to say but do large averages and force yourself to not reset the average every time you get a bad solve. (I do that lots :/)

Remember it's not about getting good times it's about getting a good amount of practice.

cube :dayan guhong
time: used to be 12~14 on normal.
current: 13~16..
hah...
thanks 5BLD..
it's not just bad times..
I just can't.........
i don know why tho......
but i'll try hard.......
thanks.

Ok, I watched theWestonian's vid on OH and it really helped on how to do Rs, R's, Us and U's, but I just feels really awkward and sloppy when I try and put it into practice. I can hardly move my index and pinky fingers round to do R's and Us, even on my FII. Is it because my hands are too small? Or too weak? Or will it just take time to get used to it?

Edit: Already 1:04.69 ao5 with OH, hope to get sub 1 minute soon.

It does take a lot of time to get used to these moves, especially if you have small hands like me. Another thing to help you is to try out different ways to turn faces. I'm still pondering about using pinky to do R' or to use index to do R'. Learning both can actually benefit you lots since different cases and positions you get have different comfortableness in doing moves. I thought I was supposed to use the pinky for EVERY R' I have in a solve, and it really was a pain in the a. Then I tried different methods and I got used to using index finger. This way, in different cases such as algorithms I can choose which R' to use best and fastest.

You can get a Lingyun for OH,it's smaller than regular 3x3s.
Can someone recommend me a well put together OLL guide for a newbie? I want good algs from somebody fast. Video executions would be cool too.

Yeah I've got a question. I just got a new Guhong v2 and tensioned it. I havn't lubed it yet, and all I have is CRC silicone. My f2's insides are all whitened and disgusting from using crc on it a few times, and I would hate to have my new Guhong look like that. My question is, if my cube exceeds expectations already without lubing, do I even need to lube it?
And "buy lubix" isn't an option.

I've always wondered, if someone relatively nooby were to realise they have a 5 move 3x3 solve or something equally/insanely lucky on other cubes in competition, would it be 'wrong' to solve it as fast as they could, breaking the world record by far? I mean, it would be eliminating competition among the top cubers, and they'd probably feel cheated. The record would never be broken again. Should this person refuse to solve it or purposefully DNF, for the sake of retaining competition? Or should they solve it, because hey, you'll be kind of famous?

I need help with the 4x4. I know how to solve it somewhat (I just need to learn last 2 edges algorithms and parity algorithms) but I do 1 edge at a time when it comes to solving the edges, is there any videos explaining how to do many at a time? Is that more efficient or is it the same in terms of efficiency?
I have heard of many different methods for solving edges but I want to know, which is one of the fastest?

Also, what are some nice algorithms for OLL/PLL parity and last 2 edges?

If I'm not mistaken, I can use the same techniques for solving a 4x4 to solve a 5x5 or higher as well right? Only 4x4, 6x6, 8x8 etc. require OLL/PLL parity algs? And can the 4x4 algs for OLL/PLL parity be used for 6x6 and 8x8 parity as well?

Finally, I want to make sure that my centers are efficient as well, it would be nice if someone could point me to a good video explaining centers so I can compare my "method" to the video to see if I am as efficient as possible.

Well, these should be all of my big cube questions, thanks in advance.

This has algs you are looking for. (4x4)
Oll alg = r U2 x r U2 r U2 r' U2 l U2 r' U2 r U2 r' U2 r'
Video on algs (4x4 - 7x7)

There is no fastest. Most people use 32223. I think.

what else...Bigger cubes use freeslice method.
Maybe watch faz's slow mo videos on 4x4.

Well for edges, I (and I think quite a few other people) solve it in 3, 2, 2, 2, 3. Basically, solving an edge, then replacing that solved edge with another edge so when you bring it back, another edge is solved. There are Youtube vids that will help, but I can't find any right now. Just look up 4x4 Advanced Edge Pairing on Youtube for help (sorry my friend taught me).

For OLL parity, I use the algorithm:
Rw U2 x Rw U2 Rw U2 Rw' U2 Lw U2 Rw' U2 Rw U2 Rw' U2 Rw'

And for PLL Parity:
r2 U2 r2 Uw2 r2 U2 Uw2

My last 2 edges alg: Make sure both edges are in the FR and FL positions, with each colour being adjacent to each other and do: Dw R F' U R' F Dw'

Edit: Oh nvm, PandaCuber has literally said all of this before me.
