Help with 2 look OLL and 2 look PLL

well now that i have the cross and intuitive f2l down, I decided to take the advice I was given earlier and try learning 2 look pll, but to me it didn't make sense. for one wouldn't i need to learn the OLL and PLL at the same time because the steps go together? Also could anyone point in the direction of a place to easily grasp this concept? I hav espent awhile looking at site and youtube but nothing really helped.

First go to this page and learn the T, Y, and all the edge perms and what they do.

Then go to this page and learn all the corner OLL's, F R U R' U' F' and F (R U R' U')*2 F'.

Then that is two look PLL and OLL.

Use the One Answer Question Thread from now on.

Is their a video made yet that has a black Shengshou 8x8 being turned? I kind of wanted to see what it would look like.
Here is a white one, not that black/white would make much of a difference anyway but here you go:

how to you guys do M and M' (3x3)? I am currently doing it but doing an l,L' / r, r'. Im not finding this very efficient and am wondering how everyone else does it.

Use your ring finger (doesn't matter which hand, personal preference) and push the BD sticker towards you for M'. For M, you can use your index finger to push the BU sticker towards you. That's how I do M, but there are other ways which might be faster for different algs.

For M, I pull on BU with my index finger, for M', I push on BD with my ring finger.

For recognising PLLs.
Do you:
1. try to match up the colours with F2L first and see which one needs to go where
2. ignore F2L and imagine the arrows.
3. look for patterns (e.g. Y Permutation has an odd corner piece between 2 matching edge and corner pairs)
4. combination

Patterns. If you're spending time thinking about where pieces need to go... or if you're doing AUF's to line up colours, you're wasting time.

What are your tips to minimize lockups on an MF8 Megaminx V2? I've lubricated it and removed the flash from the core and centre pieces and while turning is smooth it tends to lockup during solves. Loose tension? Tight tension? Some mod? Turn more carefully?

Turn more carefully. I think there's a mod for the V2, but it might have been to reduce popping.

I have one question about 2x2 (i´ve only had it for a little more than a week) and I want to learn cll but isn´t it better to learn eg-1 because it comes more times (when you are only makeing a face as in ortega)

Interesting point, I'd have to guess it's easier to plan out a complete face in your mind rather than one that deliberately has an adjacent corner swap. Mmm though if you had a diagonal swap it would be easier to R2F2R2 into a CLL case rather than converting it to an EG 1 case.
Also I think CLL is better documented, so will have nicer algs... Also you don't need to worry about the position of the bottom pieces before starting the Alg.
