If you stop the timer, but your cube is a quarter-turn from solved, you get a +2.

But is it the same penalty if you are a half-turn off? Or is that a DNF?

It's a +2.

If you are two moves away from solved, such as U2 R2, then that's a DNF. Just R2 off is +2 though.

I have a stickerless guhong. I would like to lube it up. I found a silicone spray thats actually used for cars. Ingredients are : Silicone oil, petroleum, essence oil, petroleum liquid gas. Is it safe to use on my precious guhong??

Yeah i know but it has silicone written all over the can and thats its main ingredient so i think its good. Plus i had a crappy cube before and i spray tons on that one, no problems with that one.

What techniques are used to change cubing styles other than practice alot? I seem to be locking on every cube i own. (F2, fully modded guhong, A5, Dayan 4x4.) I think I'm more of a rough cuber.

1. buy a rubik's storebought
2. do solves on that till you don't lockup
3. switch back to regular cubes
4. accurate turns=less lockups=happiness

yes... that is actually a really good idea.
I had to switch to a store bought for around a month and a half, and when I finally got a good cube back, I dropped from 23-18 (or lower)

I applied CRC to my cube and it made it sludgy..is that normal? I was working it in and its getting faster/better but I just wanna make sure I didn't mess up my cube or made it any slower -.-

You may have just put too much in, you could clean some out, or it could get better after a few solves.
