Is it true that black vcubes take longer to break in then white ones?
Could be so. It has been discussed that white plastic is different from black, and therefore seems better, however, I think it depends on the manufacturer, but different colored cubes are often made of different plastics. I don't own neither a black or white V Cube, so I don't know about them in particular.

I got my Alpha spring set yesterday, and immediately changed springs on my ShenShou, and I also put on the small washer at the bottom, as seen in the hybrid thread. Do you think it would make any difference to also put the big washer at the top? This is my first DIY, and originally it had no washers, and I'm not really sure what the purpose is for them.

The washer is there to keep the end of the spring from carving into, and catching on the screw or center piece. This isn't an issue if your springs are closed off at the ends like the C4Y springs are.

Question:

Does anyone see any significant advantage to pairing edges on the M Slice on big cubes instead of E?

What exactly is a counting solve? people keep saying bunch of counting 5's or counting 20's what is that?

IE the solve is actually a value used to calculate the average as opposed the the solve being "trimmed" if it were the fastest or slowest time in an average. This only happens in averages like 10/12 or 3/5 for WCA competitions. I believe a 10/10 would be called a mean? of 10? I could be wrong here.

There is no advantage, it's just some people are faster with one, as apposed to the other.
Sweet. I saw a lot of pros doing it and figured it might have better lookahead with piece on RL and I spent a few days trying to switch. I'm glad I can just go back to happily free slicing on E.

Sorry if this has been asked already, i searched and found nothing and was not about to read through 1500 pages :o
I was just wondering if it would be better to learn f2l first or 2 look oll/pll first? F2l is intuitive while oll/pll is just memorization. I wonder if i should learn oll/pll first? Thanks

It kinda depends on how bad your beginner method is. If you're using a method that leaves you with orientation of corners as a last step you could end up with a 36 move alg if all corners are misoriented and that's just nasty. If you're already using a method that does orientation before permutation then I'd learn F2L first.
