Heya,

Am currently messing about with Old Pochmann (BLD Method where you solve the edges with T perms and J Perms). UR is the buffer.

To solve sticker LU, you need to go L d' L (T-perm) (then L' d L'). That's 3 setup moves.

Does anyone have a better algorithm for this? I.e.:
"A T-Perm that flips both edges?"

Thanks in advance.

on Joël's site is this: x' R2 U' R' U x R' F' U' F R U R' U'

EDIT: Stachu ninja'd me with this alg's inverse...

Are QJ skewbs adjustable?

I have one and one of the corners attached to the core became really loose and it makes the whole thing fall apart when I'm trying to solve it. I've exacto-knifed all the way around the loose corner but I can't pry it open.

For 4x4x4 edges, how much difference (speed-wise) is there between a beginner edge pairing method (one at a time) and a more advanced method?

It depends on the advanced method. Using Nakaji's method, obviously you can get pretty good times. Doing the 3-at-a-time method is obviously WAY faster to perform, but the problem is you are looking for too many pieces at one time and personally that is too much for me, so I just do the "one edge at a time" method.

There is not a video on the internet explaining how to assemble a dayan? I looked on youtube but can't find one. I just got done lubing..

It looks daunting, but it's not too bad, the White pieces make up a 3x3, the shell screws into it's corners then just place a few groups of centre pieces in and hold them in place with edge pieces. Compared to the X-cube there's nothing to it.

Assemble the innermost core like it's a 2x2 core.

It's easier if you make one full hemisphere by placing some pieces next to the part of the white core that has the three screws in it. The big piece that everything rotates around.

Attach your black shield pieces. Screw these in as tight as they go. If they're loose they'll wiggle causing the center pieces to lock up one another.

From there add four center pieces, then the edges and corners in that layer. I usually start with white and work my way up the cube. Once the bottom layer is there put in your orbital centers. So if you did white on bottom you'd then do blue, red, green, and orange.

Once you have the first layer and the four orbital centers complete then add in your dedges. Just put them in by pressing them in place or slide the pieces in from the top.

Now that you have three layers done do the centers of the U layer.

Finally, add dedges and corners alternatively like you would if you were putting together a 3x3.

Sometimes as you add centers you'll notice it's sticking out in an awkward angle. That's because the piece isn't sitting correctly in place. To fix this just put your thumb on the back of the piece and your index finger under the corner opposite the stalk of the center and push down with your thumb while pulling up with your index finger. It will pop into place and then your centers will sit nice and flat. Sorry there's no video that I know of. I plan on making one eventually but I'm still waiting to get a camera. If you need help look at lancetheblueknight's tutorial on how to assemble a Rubik's 4x4. They're very similar the only difference is the center pieces.

Thanks fresh. I got help from a friend and i ws stuck on the center pieces. They wouldnt go. I'll try your suggestion of tightening it as far as it goes.

edit: Got a problem. They go in fine now. But like the center caps dont aline with the core so i cant turn the ball core at all. They dont line up. If you dont understand what Im talking about I can make a video showing you. Its hard to explain. I dont know what went wrong...
