Help cube issue

I have a random cube all it has is a really good spin . I made a mistake my putting Vaseline on it and now its moving so hard . Is there any way to clean it up? I just cleaned it with hope and washed with hot water now waiting for it to get dry.

lol i am too much addicted to it . Bought another cube this one is fast and has good corner cutting too . anyway i still want to fix my old cube so what should I do?

you were right to wash out the vaseline, but when it dries you will want to take a paper towel and make sure to get all of it out, there may still be some stuck in under pieces or on the core. After it has dried and you put it back together, it would probably be a good idea to lube it with some silicone based lube, like jigaloo or CRC

My F2L sucks, I deliberately never learned how to do 'd' moves cause I thought they were pointless and awkward, but now I'm starting to wonder if I've picked the wrong path, and doing lots of d's will be quicker in the long run than lots of cube rotations. Should I force myself to use only d's, or is it ok to stick with cube rotations, or do most people have a happy mix of the two?

Ive heard from pretty much everyone that the FII is an amazing OH cube. Just saying. Basically all the OH cubers I know either use Guhong or FII

Or....you can learn how to insert F2L pairs from different angles. No one uses d moves to set up an easy insertion. Just learn how to insert from different angles..

Sorry, I ment using that as a set up. My main problem was... when an insertion requires a F or B, should I rotate the cube or just do a d/d', I can't work out which is a better/faster technique.

So with the set up R U R' U' y', I could either go U y R U' R' or d L U' L' (does it just come down to personal preference, or is one method much better for lookahead/speed?)

OK cool, thanks, that's what I was wanting to know :)
Badmephisto's F2L sheet was in my mind (I'd worked out my own way of doing things before looking at that sheet, then when I saw it I was worried I was doing it wrong), but I was also thinking of an old video by faz when he said about never doing y2's, it should always be a y with a d - which seemed weird.

Is keeping special edition cubes in their original packaging worth it, or is it okay to take them out and make sure the stickers and cube don't get worn?

because I just ordered a hellraiser cube and want to solve it XD
