How long does it take to break in a mini qj 4x4? I have one, just starting to really get into 4x4, i'm impatient, and I don't like its corner cutting.
This is what I needed to bump. :fp

Not very long, I think it took me around 15-30 solves.
Before you know it, your mini qj will be loose like hell :D

Oh it's loose, and mind you all I do love how it glides like no other, BUT.
I need it to cut more.

And I really don't want to have to squircle mod it.
But that's probably what i'm going to do :P
how much does it cut?

a little under 1/2 piece

Another clock question:

How do I keep the pins from staying where they are meant? If I tilt it every pin that is pushed up goes down.

bump :o

Is this one of those new clocks or an original?
Do you want to keep the pins staying where they are? (I think thats what you meant)
My original clocks pins cant slide down on their own, could this possibly be a flaw of your clock? The only solution I can think of is jamming the pins slightly so they cant fall freely but idk how.
Lets hope I interpreted that right.

EDIT: I just answered that with lots of questions

Why is bumping being used so much now?

Questions are being overlooked. People bump if a question has been unanswered for a while. People are just overlooking more questions. Or not many people know the answers, which is doubtful.

No. People are bumping within the day. It's crazy.

Maybe if we had Minigoings here answering questions nothin would get bumped because they would already have been answered:D

Maru lube or CRC for MF8 Megaminx?

CRC used to be worshipped. Now it seems to have fallen out of favor, and many worship Maru lube.
I think the difference is going to be minimal.

Use CRC first. Then before an average or a comp, put some maru lube in. Maru lube only lasts for like 15 mins. And never put more then 3 drops in a cube.

Thanks very much for the Suggestions, The Y-perm does look really good, but I'm curious what one is the E-perm? Could someone tell me which number it is on this page, cause I haven't heard anyone use that term before. Thanks again.
Also check out badmephisto's site: http://www.badmephisto.com/

If you already know 2-look PLL, you should already know the E-perm. :)

I'm currently at the same stage as you: using F2L, 2l OLL and 2l PLL. :D

Well that's interesting. Mephisto linking to his evil twin Badmephisto.

Wasn't Mephisto the evil twin of diablo :D

New ones. I took it apart. Noticed that the big pins have 2 small metal pins that slide up and down. 2 of the large, black pins' metal pins have resistance, and those pins stay in place when solving. However, the other 2 large black pins' small metal pins virtually have no friction and slide up and down very easily. Those small metal pins/tubes' resistance are what hold the pin up when you tilt the clock. How do I give them more resistance?

Yes.

My maru misaligns on one layer. When i am a a competition is it legal to pull the centers apart to see which layer it will misalign on? This would be done during inspection.

I think so. You cannot do it in inspection though, because you cannot adjust the cube in any way other than rotating it

Still can't find that center cap :(
Sucks because I was just about to learn BLD. Back to my C4U diy. And I just bought a bunch of cubesmith stickers for my FII. None of the centercaps fit, the paper thing doesn't work because the caps are too big for the centers.

Nooowww my question is since I changed the tensions, took the screws out and everything, its starting to rattle. Did I do something wrong D:

Maru lube or CRC for MF8 Megaminx?

I have applied Lubix to a Megaminx at the 2010 Nationals. It worked great. HelpCube just applied it to a Teraminx. I'd check with him and see what results he got.

The staff selling the Maru Cubes with Maru Lube, eventually had me lubing their cubes with Lubix, and the increase in how the cube turned was noticeably, and greatly improved.

I know this because even though they had all their cubes pre-lubed with maru, people kept buying the demo ones I was lubing for them, and I'd lube another demo cube for them when the Lubix cube sold.

Even Rowe Hessler seemed surprised by his maru cube with Lubix.

Wait, how would I jam the pins?
