I'm not sure, but maybe when you press spacebar to start the timer, have the cube in your hand already?

Hold the cube in your hands at start, or if timing cross, only stop the timer with the hands in the cube, but start normally. If I were to do a BDS (Breakdown of Solve), I would start the inspection timer as normal, start the solve as normal, hit the spacebar when cross is finished, then look away, then start again and tap once more after f2l, then oll, then pll.

Specifically for solving oll and pll; you can do a full untimed solve and stop after f2l, without looking at the case, then at the end look away, so that when you start the timer you include auf and recognition. Same thing for pll.

When timing PLL or OLL, it might be useful to time how long it takes to do the same alg 5 times and then divide the time by five to give you are more accurate indication of your time.

This is assuming that you don't mind the fact that after the second OLL/PLL, the last layer will not be in the original state that it was.

Can anyone give me some example solves for the second block using roux?
I still find it hard to get less than 15 moves for that.
Please don't say use M-slice.. I've read all these tips through. Please just give me about 10 examples.

Yes I can. Um... try making a 1x2x2 and then expanding into a 1x2x3 (what most people do). Or you could try using Matt's Block which makes a 1x1x3 and then inserts the 2 corners. If you want examples you can just give me the scrambles.

EDIT: whole cube scrambles, so plz write your first and second block solution. I think I can learn from that, too.

Umm, how about just R, r, M and U scrambles?

yeah -.- I don't have any <R,M,U> scrambles right here and I don't have the time to create some situation yet. I also don't know a scramble generator that uses limited moves, so I think I'm gonna send you a PM, when I have some scrambles. Thanks anyway.

For glow in the dark cubes does anybody have recommended ways to cut sticker ( like the ones on the glow in the dark edison)? Would transparent stickers work? If so where do you get them? Help is much appreciated! :)

Transparent stickers? Wouldn't that be not such a good idea? Or do you mean translucent?

Yeah translucent w/e lol :p

trans⋅par⋅ent  /trænsˈpɛərənt, -ˈpær-/ –adjective
1. having the property of transmitting rays of light through its substance so that bodies situated beyond or behind can be distinctly seen.
2. admitting the passage of light through interstices.
3. so sheer as to permit light to pass through; diaphanous.
4. easily seen through, recognized, or detected: transparent excuses.

trans⋅lu⋅cent  /trænsˈlusənt, trænz-/ –adjective
1. permitting light to pass through but diffusing it so that persons, objects, etc., on the opposite side are not clearly visible: Frosted window glass is translucent but not transparent.
2. easily understandable; lucid: a translucent explication.
3. clear; transparent: translucent seawater.

So yes, translucent stickers would probably be a good idea, transparent ones would be bad.

Can someone please tell me how to lube a QJ 4x4x4 and 5x5x5?

If your using Spray silicone, on the 4x4

1. Turn the top layer 45°.
2. Stick your thumb under one of the edges & lift.
3. The edge should pop out.
4. Do the same with the edge next to it.
5. Take the corners next to the edges out.
6. Take your spray silicone & spray about 4 times into the cube.
7. Put the 2 corners back in.
8. Take one edge put it in it's place then push down until it pops in.
9. Do step 8 with the other edge.
10. Do a couple solves to work in the silicone.
11. :-)

NOTE: If there is still some lube in it you should probably clean all the pieces of first. To do this just completely dis-assemble it then take a damp shammy/towel and wipe the pieces off.

Sorry, I don't have a QJ 5x5.
