okay, so..
I know that ZBF2L inserts the last f2l pair and orients the LL edges.

Is there a way to insert the last F2L pair + orient AND permute LL edges in 1 algorithm?

If there was, i would learn it, and learn CLL as well.

So ZBF2L didn't have enough cases for you? ;)

Isn't ZBF2L just 42 algorithms?

im not interested in learning like 1000 for ZBLL xD

EDIT: Oops.. i just did some research and theres actually like 300 ZBF2L cases :P, but anyway i still want to know if there is a way to insert the last F2L pair + orient AND permute LL edges in 1 algorithm...

...Just incase im actually bothered learning all the cases one day :)

Ok, so, I was doing some untimed solves, to work on my blockbuilding skills. On my first scramble, I saw a really easy first block, so I solved the cube, not really caring about time.

Then I realized "Hey, that solve was really nice block, so I might as well warm up and time it." So after warming up, I returned to that scramble and got 13.86.

For me, this is insanely fast. It was an easy first block, easy second block, corner orientation skip, and last six edges permutation skip. The only thing that wasn't lucky was the edge orientation.

Should I count this as my Lucky PB? Technically, I did solve the scramble once before, but my second solution was different than my first.

So, what is it considered?

The scramble (it was a hand scramble):
U2 R2 F2 D B2 U' B2 D2 L2 U2 L B' R2 U2 F L D2 U R' F2 R
and the time was 13.96. But because it was a hand scramble, and it was kind of thought out, I'm not going to use it as a Lucky PB.

Should I post it as my Re-Solve time though?

However, I did just do a official scramble and got 19.69, and it was non-lucky too.

Quick question. I don't understand why there are 'scrambles'. You mean, you scramble it with the notation given from an already solved point? And then solve it?

...wouldn't you (arguably) just reverse the scramble to solve it? What's the fun?

In a competition situation, you would not have knowledge of the scramble before hand. Also, I bet most people would solve it slower if they were to reverse the scramble rather than legitimately solving it.

Oh okay. So do you guys (or in competitions do they) ever just.... scramble it mindlessly? That's all I do.. (Side note, an ipod touch App I'm using, when you're done timing it says "next scramble: blah blah", so that's where that curiosity started. )

I prefer using computer generated scrambles because I hate scrambling. I really, really hate scrambling. Reading them is fun when it takes you about 10 seconds for 25 moves =P. Also this way if you get a lucky one, it counts, because it is completely random, not left to human ability. In competitions all scrambles are generated.

First, thanks for the reply.

Second.. I guess I don't really understand. When you see a scramble you actually do those moves on the cube before starting? Seems like that'd be something to hate way more than just mindlessly turning stuff over and over.

?

Although, *shrug* it's not real important or anything, I'm just tryin' to understand. I jumped into this cubing thing overnight and read an awful lot of terms and shorthand and methods and all that stuff that apparently are normal that I have no idea about.

ya dig?

:)
