I just ordered a 2x2, and when it gets here I wanna learn a good method to solve it
of course i know that i can solve it the same way as a 3x3 (without centers or edges) but are there any other methods that are faster?

Ortega's a good way to start. It's easy, only needs a handful of algorithms and can be done pretty quickly. After that a lot of people use CLL.

WD40

It was good enough for lubing my Rubiks brand when I first started. But I guess any type of lubricant in a Rubiks brand is better than an unlubed one. Especially if you haven't got access to anything else. My storebought is still good enough even after several months of initial WD40 abuse. I never cleaned the stuff out, so based on popular belief, that cube should have dissolved by now. The stuff has been in there for over a year. Still turns nicely for a storebought and I can't see any damage to the plastic.

Other alternatives would be sewing machine oil. The same stuff can be found in the accessories of household hair trimmers and the alike. Sure, low viscosity, but Maru lube isn't exactly thick either.

And then there's always hand sanitizer...but don't tell anybody I let you in on the secret, it's just between me and you 'kay ;)

Is this a +2 or DNF when a tip of the pyraminx is half way turned when you stopped the timer also is it the same with the layer below the tips are turned half way?

If the tip is half turned or more, it's a +2. If the layer is half turned or more, it's a +2. If it's both, it's DNF.

any coloured cube is allowed, so long as it only has 1 colour plastic.
As far as I know, a 3x3x3 cube is allowed as long as all the corners are one plastic colour, all the edges are one plastic colour, and all the centers are one plastic colour.

First time I posted this, it got lost in the db problem... So, take 2!

I have an old cube, that had yet to be identified. About 20 years old, not a Rubik's brand, but storebought. When I first started cubing, I saw Dan Brown's tutorial and lubed it with vaseline. I recently found my own Rubik's brand cube that I bought about 5 years a go in my basement, and I think I had performed 5-6 solves with it. Now that I have Traxxas, I lubed it with it. Turns great and doesn't damage the cube. But. It's still very noisy. I broke it in, so it turns okay. I want to make it quieter. Since my unknown cube is pretty silent and that I lubed it with vaseline, would vaseline help my Rubik's cube to make less noise? I'm really just trying to find a way to mod it so it doesn't make too much noise.

I also have an F-II and a ZhanChi, but they simply make too much noise when I'm riding the bus. I don't care if my Rubik's becomes loose or if it doesn't cut corners, I usually practice algs and look-ahead in the bus anyway. Thanks!

Sure. Vaseline will gum up the insides somewhat and make the cube quieter.

Centers have to be the same color? I thought you could use stickerless cubes centers as long as the rest was stickered.

What I meant was the centers are still in the same arrangement, it's just that it's from a stickerless cube. There would be no advantage in terms of solving (unless it's possible to see more centers, which it's not)

Is this normal: I lubed my rubiks storebought with some Vaseline and now it is super smooth and quiet. Then I also noticed a couple corners can cut 45. I've been breaking it in for about a month. Can any of your storeboughts cut 45?

Same here. Well, it's not a Rubik's, it's some random brand, but I've had the same "issue". Cuts corners, and even pop :S But it's quiet in the bus, so I don't really mind...
