Approximately how many algorithms would there be for L5C and L5E? I feel as if it could be faster then cfop.

Hmmm, L5C in one step would easily be in the hundreds (I'm just going to look up some proper cube statistic techniques, but as a wild guess I'd say 180 algs - and that's with difficult recognition)

Well, as godmil said; alot.
For corners, you should be able to work out your own commutators though.

Either way, recognition for this would be tough. I do something like this is Heise though. What i do is simultaneously solve the 5 edges and two corners. This can be done intuitively. This leaves me with a commutator at the end. It could be fast after, maybe, years of experience?

The closest viable option I'd say is MGLS. I was considering some sort of last slot thingy with Roux actually.

When I first started out I used to hear lots of references to how crazy Breandan's old F2L style was, but I never found out what it was, does anyone have any details/descriptions?

I'm averaging 20-23 seconds right now, with almost full OLL and full PLL. Can anyone give me an estimate for how fast my PLLs should be? I just drilled a bit. I average barely sub-2 with 2 of them, and the majority are between 2 and 3, and I have 2 or 3 that are sup-3. Is this normal? :P

Your plls are about the same as mine. What's your cross+ f2l?

hello :)

Jessica Fridrich's website sais that the calculated average for fridrich cross + f2l is 35. Have any of you achieved this? I've just taken an average of my f2l and it was at 40 moves.

35 actually sounds a little high, I wonder how optimal her F2L was. Averaging in the low 30's (or less) should be achievable by people who are good at F2L.

I just tried an average of Fridrich cross + F2L:
31, 30, 37, 40, 37, 36, 34, 30, 33, 32, (41), (25) = 34 moves

That's coming from someone who still can't manage a sub-20 second average. :p

Godmil, I think your "or less" estimate sounds a little low unless the person is explicitly going for move-optimal; I would think a sub-30 move average would be quite difficult if you're occasionally using speed-optimal 11 move CE pair insertions. But maybe advanced F2L has really gotten so good that those don't even matter?

Multi~Slotting. Making the next pair an easier case.

29.6 is almost sub 30? Where have I been...

anyway, here's what I got doing 12 F2L solves

Cross + F2L Moves : 36, (44), 40, (29), 44, 42, 37, 39, 40, 32, 39, 34

Avg - 38.3 moves

Mean - 38 moves
