What is the simpliest method to learn for 3x3? My 8 year old daughter would like to learn how to solve. She already does the RUR'U' trigger on a cube so one that is RUR'U' centric would be best.

Seems some beginner method are more complex than others.

Erik compiled a method using only sexymoves, his first video of it is here and should be very easy to understand. But that's just the cross so far. He's detailed the method on another thread that maybe you could learn and teach your daughter.
(I was so proud of my son at the weekend, he just turned 1 and the next day did his first proper scramble :) Guess I'll have to wait a while longer before I can teach him how to unscramble it)

Thanks Godmill, I will take a look when I get home from work. If its by Erik it should be good.

She has been doing the (RUR'U')6 for a while and I even bought her her own pink GuHong DIY from Lightake with Cubesmith full bright stickers (pink instead of red). So there is adequate 'pinkness' to keep a girl happy!

Just feel she has the intelligence and concentration to learn a method to solve now, especially a non algorithm centric one.

Grats on your son's scramble, nice to see you are getting him hooked at an early age :D

Normal scramble is green on top, white in front. I believe, though I could stand corrected, that in absence of either/both of these you hold darkest on top, lightest of the 4 connected sides in front.

I have to say just started lookign at CN last couple of weeks and sometimes just completely frozen on F2L with a connected pair in front of my eyes. I should try one of the grey sticker sets - I would probably be frozen for hours! :D

I'm trying to take the center pieces off of my guhong, but one of the screws won't come out of the core. It's like I can unscrew it most of the way, but after that, when I try to unscrew it any more, the screw doesn't come out any more and it won't come out of the core. Any suggestions?

Is there any program similar to ACube that generates algs for all possible cases? (For example you could tell it to ignore the position of top layer pieces, but consider any orientation for top layer pieces to generate OLL)

Should you doe Maru Lube in the core, like Lubix?
And is this good for the cube?

I don't believe that it would make any noticable difference if you put Maru lube in the core. I do know that it wouldn't harm anything, though.
