Ok, so a while ago, I took apart my guhong so I could clean out the core, since the core was getting quite dirty. I put it back together, and now it feels epicly clicky. I know guhongs are normally clicky, but it like snaps into place really loudly every time I turn a layer. I took it apart, and it looks like the "wings" of the edge piece (I'm not sure how else to call them) are having a hard time fitting between the core of the guhong and the center pieces. I'm assuming this has something to do with me putting the center pieces back in wrong, but I can't figure out what I did wrong. Any suggestions?

Sand down the core. It might have a little extra plastic on it or you have you cube really tight thus making the wings scrap against the core.

Niklas is L U' R' U L' U' R U right? Or the mirror of that

Would small cubes potentially be better, since the sides are smaller so you don't have to do as much movement to turn a side?

And no. Solving a 2x2 but with 3x3 algs is called LBL. The first layer being your "cross" and the last layer being OLL and PLL just forgetting the edges.
.
so you cannot use COLL on a 2x2 and call it CLL?

yeah, as long as you can reflect it on like all sides and angles and shizz, then its niklas.

Amazing with how much certainty you can say something like this. COLL are 3x3 algs. If you use them on a 2x2, you are using the CLL method, just with bad algs for many cases.
So yes, it is still LBL (as in one layer at atime), but not with OLL and PLL.

THey are easy

one is F (triple sexy) F'

I do not use this for that COLL case.

Technically it's true but not really at the same time.

Yes it is completely true. COLL are 3x3 algs. You are using them on a 2x2. What the hell else would that be other than solving a 2x2 with 3x3 algs?

Well, since COLL and CLL algs are slightly different, you can't really say they're the same. However,.

however, they serve the same purpose on a 2x2. the only difference is that COLL preserves edge orientation and hence you do not see COLL algs being as optimal as CLL algs. i would think that it would be hard to achieve sub 4 2x2 with COLL algs.

Should I have to sand down the core? I've had this cube for a while now, and it only started happening after I took it apart. If I loosen it, I still have the same problem, except it pops almost every time I turn it.

is anyone going to baltimore for the competition in 2 weeks? or is anyone going to the one in sep. 10? i might be going to the maryland one and i am going to the one in sep. 10 in conneticut
