Just got a 6x6 and am planning to do the pin/sanding mod.

I heard that after you do this, it gets worse for a while.
Is this true?

Would it be better if I added the pins, then broke it in, then sanded the pieces?

How do I solve this on a 4x4x5?

I don't know if they're the same but you can send a pm or e-mail to bigbee either here or on his site and if he has one taken apart he'll probably sell it to you. izovire also sells V-Cube 7 parts so maybe you can try him for a core.

Eh never mind, I figured out how to solve the centres, but still dunno about the edge...

Just did a 4x4x5 solve and didn't get the edge parity :D

3:00.241... First sub 10, 2nd sub half hour, 3rd "sub" DNF/S

Try this alg

R2 U2 R U2 R2 U2 R2 U2 R U2 R

Its an H perm. From what I understand about 4x4x5s, the R/L sides are fully functional, but the F/B/U/D sides are r moves only.
So this alg fits the bill.

EDIT: Im playing around with it now to adapt it.
Edit: failed. :fp
EDIT: SUCCESS! b2 U2 b2 Uu2 b2 u2 (4x4 edge parity) Rr2 U2 Rr U2 Rr2 U2 Rr2 U2 Rr U2 Rr (the alg from above)
Basically you do the 4x4 PLL parity from the right face, then the H [perm from the front. The U2 and B2 are really only a U and B since you can only do 2 turns, but I made the alg like that. lol.
