How long would you say it takes to fully mod it with an adjustable core? I'm really careful when I mod and I do everything meticulously so a mod that usually takes an hour takes me more because I find additional imperfections like excess plastic that I sand away.
Sanding the internals=Half an hour
Super-Gluing the Two Pieces=One minute
Pin Mod+Overnight Wait=10 hours
Making Adjustable Core (Assuming you have all your materials right there): 10 minutes (Assuming you already have it assembled.)
If you're making an adjustable core, make absolute certain you have the tensions just the way you like 'em. Because after you super-glue in the pins, you can't change the tensions without taking off the pin. But after you change the screw tension, you can't use the same pin, because it's not going to be the same height since the screw height changed.
I'm currently learning the L perm (backward J). I've noticed that several PLL's can be done with only U, R, and F turns, and such algorithms feel natural to me due to fewer regrips. For example:
I looked at the Wiki PLL page, and did not find any such algorithms for the L perm. Does one exist?
http://www.speedsolving.com/wiki/index.php/PLL - J(a) - (y2) R' U2 R U R' U2' L U' R U L'
Can 1.5 it easily. F moves in some algorithms are awkward. Not every alg can be done with 0 regrips.
Yeah I get where you're coming from, I recently got rid of all my PLL's with L's in them.
For my J(a) I go for R U2 R' U R' (U2 + z) (so the U2 turns into an R2) U' R' D R U' (animation)
Looks weird on paper, but I find it super finger friendly.
If you had to do an odd amount of edges, then right after you have solved all the edges, (assuming old pochmann), you'd then do y' and do R(a) (left handed R perm) which, when rotated, would switch back the corners to their correct spot, and then switch the edges you'd use in Y perm for old pochmann.
how hard is it to solve a square 1 using the beginner's method? compared to a 3x3 or 4x4 or something of that kind. and the algorithms, are there a lot for beginners and are they long?
Does anyone know of a place where I can find out how to get the middle 2 layers of a super square 1 back into a cube shape? I can get the outer 2 layers done but I am having a hard time with those inner layers.
Edit= Nevermind.....One of the Track's just broke.
Is there a way to lubricate a V-cube 7 that doesn't require taking the cube apart? I plan on using CRC silicone and I just got my V7 so it is very stiff and is in need of lube.
