My xcube is now assembled. Took me 4 1/2 hours. Upon turning it, it feels like it has an internal pop

Steps I should take to diagnose the problem area? I couldn't find any internal pop upon quick inspection in the innards.

What's the most likely culprit?

The one for $5 is .5 mm shorter on all sides. One is also "full sealed" (I have no idea what that means).

Um, well seeing as though not many people have x cubes, you'll only get a general answer. Here is mine: Try taking it apart and putting it back together (you might have put it together wrong).

how much did that cost because cubesmith wants $1.75 for a 4x4 center. btw does cubesmith charge shipping (if so how much)

Eric sent it to me for free since I ordered other cubes with it. Cubesmith will charge shipping but I'm not sure how much. By the time you buy the piece and add in shipping it will be maybe around $5. At which point you should just buy a ShengShou 4x4. It's cheap and turns good. This is for a Rubik's 4x4 right?

Is the pin mod worth doing on a V-6? It's so much work to full mod it and add an adjustable core. Is the difference night and day? How hard is it to realign the core if it comes out of alignment? Would it add ten seconds to the solve time? Fifteen? Thirty? Or would it just debilitate the cube so much you'd have to stop the timer and start over? How often does it come out of alignment unmodded compared to modded and broken in?

I know that's like 5 questions but this didn't need it's own thread.

yeah this is for a rubik's. i already have an eastsheen so i dont NEED to fix the 4x4 it would just be nice. the center piece snapped in half where it is thin.will glue work? (crud i should have bought my alpha 5 from him if the piece was going to be free! oh well)

I'm gonna answer by how many question marks there are...
1)Yes, the Pin-Mod is worth it depending how much effort you put in.
2)I don't understand.
3)Realigning the core is easy, but if your Speedsolving, the process is annoying and does take a lot of time.
4)Maybe
5)Maybe
6)Maybe
7)No, unless you'd rather DNF it then have a bad single.
8)Unmodded, it doesn't come out of alignment much, but the cube doesn't turn smoothly. After you sand the internals to turn smoothly, it starts coming out of alignment more. (So after sanding mod=Increased Misalignment) This is where the Pin-Mod comes in, fixing it.
So modify it.

How long would you say it takes to fully mod it with an adjustable core? I'm really careful when I mod and I do everything meticulously so a mod that usually takes an hour takes me more because I find additional imperfections like excess plastic that I sand away.

I'm currently learning the L perm (backward J). I've noticed that several PLL's can be done with only U, R, and F turns, and such algorithms feel natural to me due to fewer regrips. For example:

F perm: R' U' F' R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R' U' R U R' U R
J perm: R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R' U'
T perm: R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R' U' R U R' F'
Y perm: F R U' R' U' R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R F'

I looked at the Wiki PLL page, and did not find any such algorithms for the L perm. Does one exist?

Mirror the J-perm. That's all thank you.
