I can't get shock oil anymore because the local hobby store closed down. So I'll try what Erzz said.
Just a note , this cube was actually like this out of the box which was cool when I got but now that I'm trying to get faster it keeps locking up because it overshoots on outer turns.

It didn't affect it too much. Oh well I guess I'll have to figure out how to make my rubik's 4x4 good.

I'm really intimidated by all the 4x4 parity alg's and don't want to spend ages learning a bad one... is there one really popular alg for flipping two edges (that maybe all the fast people use)? Thanks.

Does the MM&P V-5 corner mod affect the actual performance of the cube like corner cutting, speed, and lock ups or does it just make it smoother with no other affects?

it mostly just makes it smoother, and it helps speed and lock ups a bit. not much you can do about cutting on a 5x5. Theres no downside to doing this mod, as it really doesnt do THAT much to your cube, you might as well do it, it only takes like an hour

Yea I plan on doing it once the lube it came with pre-lubed wears away unless it really starts to bother me. (it's really bugging me now so we'll so how it is after this average goes.)

I don't have a dremmel but I found some 600 grit sand paper and some 150 grit sand paper. Is the 150 enough to take off a lot of the plastic quickly so I don't kill my arms sanding it? and is the 600 enough to smooth it out? It feels like paper almost but it still takes away material so I think it'll be okay.

i did everything with like 250 grit sandpaper and it took my about 2 hours and i didnt do that good of a job, your approach will probably work a lot better

Would Rounding the sharp edges on the corner stalks help with lockups? It doesn't seem like something that would negatively affect performance and I think MM&P advices you do it to the V6.

maybe a little bit, give it a shot. Im sure it wont hurt, seeing as the outer layers of the V5 already suck, you probably cant make them worse

Your post was totally useless to me and just useless in general.
