When lubing should I do the pi's way and CRC the corner/pieces (if so, all 8 corners/the pieces) or should I do Chris Birds way of just opening a crack in the cube and spraying it into the core pieces.

This will be for my vcube 5x5x5.

Oka method tutorial and algs here
I just found this video the other day and am in the process of learning it.
Could someone tell me if this is youtube style?
From the pyraminx method thread I understand that oka is one edge correct the second edge not, and youtube is both edges correct.
right?

Also I agree with ryan, I only use lubix on my 3x3 and my dayan 4x4 because it has alot of surfaces touching. I tried it on my gigaminx to see if it would improve it better, and it made only a slight difference compared to cheaper lubes like Jigaloo. My gigaminx is modded as well.
I own a YJ 5x5 and I used maru lube at first, but Jigaloo worked better once it had been broken in. To apply Jigaloo, I turn the top layer (U')a slight bit, about 2/3 a cubie, and then the right layer(R'). To create a gap, and spray a little bit in there, then I work in those three sides, and repeat on other corners until it feels fully lubed. Since the YJ and V cube are the same, that should works. Let me know if it does because I just ordered a V-cube set.

Is the core in the haiyan haiyan cube a basic core? I think one of my sides is stripped because it wont tighten.

The yellow face is really loose compared to the others ones, but not loose enough to pop or cause major problems. But if I shake the cube, the yellow piece jiggle a little. Is that something that can be caused by a core problem, or is it something else?

I've just reached a 1:05 average using Dan Brown's beginner method, what should my next step be?

Algorithm F2L
2 look OLL
2 look PLL

Learn to do F2L (badmephisto has videos)
Learn 2look OLL and 2look PLL (both on his website). Your times will jump up to start but it will cut down very fast. Expand to full PLL. Then learn full OLL whenever you feel like it, but you can get sub15 with 2look OLL.

I would learn Badmephisto's beginner method next to give you a smooth transition into 2look OLL and PLL then learn intuitive F2L.

Wait for the xcube. Dayan isn't bad but it pops a lot. Maru is probably the best alternative. Shenshou is supposedly a cheaper "version" of maru, and in the words of Dan Cohen "unless you're stripped for cash, there's no reason to get it".
