ive asked this before but did not get a response.

how long does a maru 4x4 take to break in?

my middle layers are not smooth at all.

the corner cutting is great and took my average down by about 15 sec, but turns no where near as smooth as my eastsheen.

once broken in will it turn as good as an eastsheen.

is there a mod to make all 6 screws adjustable on the maru?

and finally is the mf8 dayan better?

Another question: does one need to lean ELS in order to 'know' MGLS, allowing that he preorients edges somehow?

Well, by definition, not really. In my opinion if you were to use it with Petrus or ZZ or something, you'd still be using MGLS though. The ELS isn't as important as CLS in my opinion. Also, if you were using ZZ or Petrus you probably could do ELS intuitively.

When I turn the yellow side and white side of my 52mm alpha cube, it sounds springy. It's slower than the other sides even with same tension. Is it the cube or the spring? What can I do to stop it from making the springy sound?

ES and mini QJ 4x4s have no springs and can be tensioned.

yeah true, but if you barly looses=n an eastsheen it becomes two loose and will easily fall apart, dont own a QJ but without springs to push out on the centers loosing the screws would make it too loose.

it is most likely the end of the spring scratching along the plasing in the center cap, unless one end of the spring is wider, like some springs are, try turning the spring around, also spraying some lube, or applying lubix inside where the spring is rubbing can help. if all else fails experiment with other tensionings. or get a Lingyun :P
