Why can't I sub 1 the E algorithm?
No matter how many times I do it throughout the day, I can only get 2-3 seconds.
Am I just not turning fast enough??

Any reason I am so inconsistent?

Basically yes. Probably has to do with your fingertricks. What are most of your pll times?

I see a range of 13-24. Probably has to do with luck. Some solves will have easier f2ls or crosses. Sometimes you'll get awesome plls like u perms. Others you'll get like e perms and n perms. Sometimes you get sunes. Others you get for olls. Just some solves are easier that others.
Probably not a good answer but what I think.

I find CFOP boring, and I want to change method, but I can't seem to find a method that i really like. ZZ comes close, but 15 seconds is not even close to enough to plan EOline, and I suck at blockbuilding. What would you recommend?

ZZ is pretty fun, no need to do rotations after EO line and can achieve insane tps. It's the same as the cross in cfop: practise, optimise, apply.

How do people tension their ss 4x4 V4 mine feels really loose and feels like its going to pop a lot. how do you get a nice tension?

ZZ is probably the best method for you. Planning EO-Line comes with practice, ans you will soon find it easy to do. If you do switch, then do as many untimed solves as you do timed, and in timed solves, don't time inspection until you are confident you can plan in 15 seconds.

I think I'll just tighten it and just keep trying to find a nice tension and I think I need to lubricate it but got no lube

Use 1/4 or 1/8 turns for every side when tensioning. Before that disassemble the whole thing, screw every screw 100% in and after that loosen them by 3 or 4 turns. Assemble it and start tensioning!
Leave it so loose that it is on the verge of popping, but it never does.
Helped make my v3 perfect for me.

No, that's not correct
I bought it, it's actually pretty decent. Lubed maybe 5 cubes with it and I still have 3 cc's left even though I'm absolutely terrible at lubing and practically put a whole cc into the first cube on accident

It's 5cc's of lube, the same as everything else they sell

I was having an interesting discussion with someone about cubing and timing etc.

They seemed pretty adamant that inspection time should be included in a solve.

Apart from the fact that we are all so accustomed to using inspection time and that removing 15-second pres-solve inspection time would probably mean overhauling all records etc (at least in 2x2/3x3), was there any reason for allowing the rule to be implemented in the first place?

The importance of Inspection time is to analyse the scrambled puzzle so you would now what you should do for the first step of solving the puzzle. But for BLD I don't get why the memo time is part of the entire BLD solve time.

If the memo time isn't included, you could take hours to memorize your cube perfectly and then solve the cube in seconds flat.
