A5b) While inspecting or solving the puzzle, the competitor must not have any assistance from anyone or any object (other than the surface). Penalty: disqualification of the solve.

Dayan core vs cube4you core

I wanted to know what core you guys use on your dayan cube and which one you believe is better

How do you get sub 1 on a rubiks magic using the advanced method? And are they taking it out of competition? If so, why?

practice
and they're taking it out because it's basically just doing the exact same move all the time, not much variety with it, or something like that

It's still a fun puzzle though. And I think many people enjoy it. I do at least.

Anyway, I was wondering: The Ghost Hand Master Magic has 6 rings in the starting position. Most other master magics only have 5. But how in the end does the ghost hand end up with 5 different solved rings rather than 6? How does this work out? Because the the way the rings are placed for the starting position on this magic is different than most others. Like certain parts of the rings might be on different tiles as compared to other 5 ring master magics.

The main reason it's being removed is that the regulations are almost impossible to enforce properly. The fact that it's not a puzzle probably just made the decision easier :p

Which size mini zhanchi would be best for OH? The 50 or 55mm?

a small kitten recommends the 55mm. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pl18iw-Q8lM I think if you do normal zhanchi OH pretty good, 55mm might be even better. If you find normal sized difficult because you have small hands then 50mm might be good. But I'm just theorizing here. My 50mm is on the way so I can't really say until I receive it and try it out.

I have a question. SiGN notation and WCA notation for 4x4 cube. Anyone have a good link that explains either or both of these (or explain it to me here)? I can't find anything decent and the notation page in the wiki appears to be deleted...

SiGN:
lowercase letters are Double/wide turns, CAPITAL letters are outer layers

So, r U R' f2
2 right layers cw, Top single layer cw, Right single layer ccw, 2 front layers 180 degrees

WCA:
*w are double/wide turns, Single Capital letters are outer layers.

Rw U R' Fw2
2 right layers cw, Top single layer cw, Right single layer ccw, 2 front layers 180 degrees

I currently average around 23 seconds. On good solves I can push past 20 to about 18. What kinds of goals should I be setting for myself? I saw the suggestions at the top of the page but I think my situation is a bit different. I know 2 Look OLL plus maybe 6 others, and full PLL. I can sometimes look ahead but often have to pause and look for pairs. My cross is around 5 seconds. Should I focus on Look Ahead? Or maybe OLL and Cross... or maybe reducing my F2L moves before looking ahead to make it easier? Thanks.
