Never shopping at ICubemart again. Ordered from them December 29, shipped out the next day. Tracking shows it was last in Monterey Park, Ca. Never showed. :( My mom sent out a few emails in regards to it. Only to receive some very nasty emails back.

Very disappointed in it, $50 out the door as of now. Would not recommend this shop to anyone.

Removing silicone from surface to prep for stickering

How do you remove silicone from the surface of a puzzle in preparation for stickering?

Some background:
I got an MF8 Gigaminx that was unstickered. My cubesmith sticker order was delayed so I went ahead and disassembled the Gigaminx, sprayed the sliding surfaces with Jigaloo, used Lubix on the core and then reassembled it. It turns wonderfully :tu, but my impatience has resulted in some of the unstickered faces having a sheen of silicone.

How many attempts of 4BLD are there in official competitons?

You get 3 attempts.

Actually, 3 is the maximum. It is acceptable for an organizer to limit the number of tries to 2 or even 1. And it is also possible to have time limits on attempts, or even a combined final (although I personally recommend against the combined final format - it's terrible for BLD events).

If you're serious about wanting 4x4x4 BLD in a competition that you're organizing, though, it's best to have 3 attempts (probably with a time limit, to keep it from getting too long). Otherwise there is a significant chance you may have all DNFs, which is never fun. It's always better to have a full podium.

I think you can just take a wet paper towel or a wash cloth and wash it off

F2L

14.543, 11.419, 13.610, 12.773, 10.595, 16.076, 12.665, 12.231, (18.021), (9.799), 15.464, 12.039= 13.142

LL

5.615, 7.325, 6.722, 8.593, 5.793, 7.737, 6.452, (4.982), 6.820, 7.972, (13.651), 5.239= 6.827

I need some help with my times. I average 20-21 seconds(some days sub-20) and this is some pretty ordinary times for F2L and LL. What do you tihink I should practise on?

My Zhanchi needs new stickers and I have been looking around on cubesmith and am thinking about just getting chrome stickers because they are cooler. I'm thinking chrome green opposite chrome blue, chrome red opposite chrome orange, and chrome black replacing white opposite plain chrome replacing yellow. Are these stickers worth it/As cool as they look on the site? and also does anyone have any stickering tips? because I currently fail.

A sharp, clean knife. Repeat, a SHARP CLEAN knife. Not a stanley/exacto knife. Just a sharp kitchen knife will do just fine. Get it about 1/4 under one corner of the sticker and pull the sticker off. That's the way that leaves the least amount of gunk. (Because the sticker pulls it off with itself)

Take all the stickers off your cube. Unless you're doing it wrong you shouldn't have scratched the plastic. Then use a standard pencil eraser to get the gunk off. Be brutal, it wont budge otherwise. Then wipe down with a towel to get any remaining debris off (I find that rubbing the cube on a stackmat works surprisingly well, but it's probably not great for the mat). You can angle the cube in light to check for any gunk you might have missed. DO NOT USE WATER!!!!!

Then gets to stickering. Take the stickers off the sheet with the blade of the sharp knife. Don't use the corner, use the edge of the sticker. I recommend that you get about 50% of the sticker onto the knife. Then, line the edge of the sticker up on the piece, push on the sticker with your finger and remove the knife, rolling your finger over the sticker. This way you shouldn't end up with any air bubbles. Continue like this until it's done, one face at a time (making sure to follow your colour scheme).

Be careful, with Cubesmith stickers, once they're on they don't like to come off. Take care to make sure every sticker is lined up as best you can.
