Is there any way to recognize COLL cases?

For example, going from these algorithms ---> http://kungfoomanchu.com/guides/coll.pdf

The first case the only thing I notice is that the algorithm solves the sune case but also switches the corners with the diagonal corner. Is that how you I should recognize the cases?

Look at the colours of the stickers. Look for any pairs of the same colour, or pairs of opposite colours, or diagonals of either of those.

Edit: So the first case, you see that the UBL and UFR stickers, as well as the UBR and FUL stickers, have opposite colours and aren't related.

N64 doesn't work and it's just been a while since I've seen the room. I don't see why you're questioning my request.
Trying to derive some more information. I would think that using a room that you already have memorized instead of a room that you don't have memorized and have to memorize it would be better.
WAI SQUIRREL SCARED OF WAFFO? ALL WAFFO WANTS IS TO HUGZ IT!
Maybe because you yell at squirrel

I see what you mean thanks.

The way I do it is orient edges - 3 algs, then permute the edges - 0 algs (intuitive Sune-type stuffs), then orient corners - sexy move comm spamming (lol), then RDR the corners (well actually URU because I z' first). But I haven't put any work into megaminx so you probably shouldn't listen to me :S

lol. Yeah I sune the edges also, but I have one alg for coners, that I just do 2-3 times. But by adding an F or L to the front as a set up, it turns one alg into three. I was down to 245ish on my chinaminx but stopped solving it for a while and now that I got a MF8, im back down to 3ish, I mainly spend time on my LL, my pb is 16.45 seconds for LL.

Whats the best edge pairing method for 4x4?

Try 3-2-2-2-3. Its pretty fast and simple once you understand it. I would say chain solving (2 edge) is the most common since its what most beginners use. But Faz(Current WR holder in 4x4, or at least he was back when I was in the loop) uses it.

@eric - way better than me. My first mega solve was at least 15 minutes, then again this was back before I was sub 45 on 3x3.
I think I might dig mine out as well. Its packed right now. Only problem is finding the box its in. -_-

How long does ACube usually take to generate a depth 20 algorithm?
It's been going for a few hours now...

ummm.....Nothing should take that long, except a brute force approach. even then only on a slow computer. I think it froze.

Just wonder what approach yall use for rest on the mega minx. The side by side way, or the effel tower things then F2L five pairs.
