Thread closed but its about f3l. I'm sure most of us have thought about this idea, but why do people say it is so unpractical.

If I try I can do two f3l slots intuitively. If we have algorithms for the remaining cases then we could do it. I think it might not be very practical but it is sort of like finishing cll and f2l at the same time.

anyway, it'd unpractical mostly because there are going to be A LOT of algs to not only find, but remember. Algs that will stretch out till' Narnia. Just too long and too much.

Yeah, what I meant was memorizing all the algorithms is why i think people say it isn't practical. But I think otherwise it wouldnt be too bad.

Then you would have to do ELL which doesn't have the easiest recognition. And the amount and length of algorithms in a method are a huge help towards seeing if it's unpractical or not. The most algorithms I would learn for a method is 150 max.

Here's what I recently bought there..works very well so far on my guhong and a couple other puzzles:
Silicone Diff Oil, 50,000 Wt

Thanks, I'll have to try it. I also want a timer (for when I'm away from the computer) but all I can find on amazon is the QJ Cubing Speedstacks Timer. What would you guys recommend. Cube first, timer later, or vice versa?

I'd go with cube first if you have to pick one or the other and use the time away from the computer to work on going slower and looking ahead or memorizing new algorithms or whatever other practice you think you need most.

I will get them both soon, it's just what i need right now (about a week between me getting the other).

Does anyone have any information about the Tropical eStore Pyraminx?

Bonus question:
If I have a yellow 3x3, without stickers in its yellow face, its clear that it cant be used on 3BLD, but, can it be used in 3x3 speed?

Tropical store pyraminxs are nice, but hard to find.

bonus answer : no, illegal in speed, you can feel the difference between stickered pieces and non-stickers pieces, therefore breaking one of the wca regs.

I can't for the life of me find the dimensions of the V-Cube 2a's stickers. Will Cubesmith's 2x2x2 tiles fit it or will I need to cut them myself?

I want to achieve sub30 very badly , right now i m 52.xx second best average of 5(around 2-3 weeks of cubing). After just doing random solves , i realised that i need to improve the 4 sections of my CFOP individually, so i wanted to know what time targets should i set for them to get a sub30. Will this be fine, cross-5 second, f2l-14 second, 2look oll-6 second, pll-5 second ? If not, Please suggest me a better distribution according to your experience so that i can put my hardwork in the correct direction.
Thanks a lot !

Just keep practicing, since you've only been cubing for 2-3 weeks you shouln't jump ahead of yourself.

F2L needs the biggest improvement to get sub 30
Cross doesnt really matter that much untill u reach sub 25, My cross is around 5 seconds and i just got a 21.xx average of 5 just before
LL just try to use more fingertricks
