I'm getting a white v5 really soon, but i'm used to black cubes, would that be really bad for my recog? Although, it probably wouldn't matter since I don't do 5x5.

Not really, My 3x3 main is a white cube and my recog is much slower on it than my black cubes, Its easier just to stick to one color

how 2 be faster?

Your step 4 could be improved, it's almost twice as slow as the step 1. Also, get the cross more consistent.

What does FMC stand for? Fewest Moves _____? Competition?

I think it is fewest moves challenge

My question: My lubix guhong locks up a LOT,It was perfect out of the box,but now after 2 months of excessive cubing with it,it locks up VERY VERY badly, plz can someone suggest a way tn minimize these lockups, anything I can do to my lubix guhong except cleaning and lubing because I already did that.

Recheck the tensions? probly a little loose.... and maybe sand a little bit.... it helped mine.

What's the best method for Pyraminx?

Oka method is a very common one from what i've heard,I dont have a pyraminx though,so i'm not the best to answer that question.

I guess I should try sanding,i've never done that kind of a thing before so i guess i need a sanding tutorial, are there any?

how do reconstructions work?
i dont understand how you are supposed to know if they had white on bottom or yellow or what?

like how would i replicate this:

scramble: F2 R2 D R D L2 R F2 L D F2 D2 R F L D' U' B

inspection: y' x'
cross: r' F' D
F2L1: U' R' U' R2 U R'
F2L2: U R' U2 R U R' U2 R
F2L3: y' U y' U R' U' R y U' L' U L
F2L4: U' R U2 R' U2 R U' R'
OLL: R' U' F U R U' R' F' R
PLL: U' R2 U R U R' U' R' U' R' U R' U

54 moves (canceled) / 7.68 = 7.03 tps

Thanks :)

I would imagine that the convention is the same as with scrambling:

"Cube puzzles must be scrambled with the white (or the lightest colour by default) face on top and green (or the darkest adjacent face by default) on the front."

But it doesn't really matter, the solution should be such that (as long as you don't rotate the cube after applying the scramble) the starting orientation is irrelevant.

whats the alg for this pll parity? i looked for a while, but couldn't get a specific one...

2i96pnr.jpg

R U R' U' Uw2 Rw2 U2 r2 U2 Rw2 Uw2 U R U' R'

explanation- R U R' U' basically puts those 2 edge pieces opposite of each other. Then you have the parity alg, then you undo the beginning 4 moves.

i don't quite understand the notation lol. so is a Uw2 a wide u(top 3 layes) 2? are upper case letters both layers or lower case?

EDIT:

nvm, used alg.garron. its official notation i see :)
