Quick one: Is there a "nickname" for the triggers:
R U R' F'
and
R' F R
I seem to be seeing these all the time.
I think that R U R' is a "Derp", and R' F R F' is the sledgehammer, but any nicknames for the above 2?

(If no-one can thing of better ones, RUR'F' will be "Rerf", R'FR the claw-hammer meaning R'F would be the tack-hammer)

R U R' F' is Jperm setup.
R U R' is join right (in some team BLD calls) but would usually just be called sexy move (R U R' U')
R' F R is just sledge without the last F', theres no real reason to give it its own name.

At 15:30, my magic unfolds the opposite way, aka instead of the flaps going up, it goes down.

Is this fine? I don't want to continue stringing up the final parts of it if I would have to redo it all.

I've had lots of my magics break and that has happened to me before. That means the last folds won't work right, At least not in my experience. You'll have to redo it.

Random thought #1: sound dampening foam inside the pieces on a GHII to make it even more quiet? (can somebody try that one out? I'm feelin lazy)

random thought #2: Has anyone tried different material inside corner/edge caps for added weight?

I practice 4x4 to improve look ahead on 3x3 and I use 5x5 to practice look ahead for 4x4. When I get my 7x7 I'm probably not going to touch another cube for a week. Once I return to them my look ahead will definitely be better and my tps will be too since I'll be used to pushing 49+ cubies as compared to the nine extremely light cubies of my GuHong. Even my X-Cube will feel feather weight afterwards. Practicing large cubes facilitates look ahead other wise you just stare at the damn things for seven seconds looking for that dedge piece you need or you last midge or something. I hate when that happens to me cause it just makes me feel stupid so I limit them as much as possible. If you can do a seamless 5x5 solve you can probably do a seamless 4x4 solve and as long as you don't rush F2L, a seamless 3x3 solve.

Speaking of 7x7 what kind of notation do most people use? SiGN or prefix? What does the WCA us to scramble?

The 'P' word-ing to be CN. I posted this somewhere else earlier and got no replies =o for colour neutral people, how do you determine the easiest face to solve during the ~15 seconds of pre-inspection? Do you look at the already solved edges or..? thanks

happy cubing-tjen

Im expecting my first 4x4 this week, its a LanLan. I wanted to know whats the usual break in time before I lubricate the cube.
