More algorithms = Consistency?

Well you know how to react to more situations, rather than 2-looking them with algs you already know.
more algs should= consistency

any good vids/ sites with algs and explination for OLL CP?
Does this help?
Probably not that much...

You have to do the alg twice, it is basically a 2 look approach.

My beginner method only requires 3 algs total.
A 3 edge cycle(technically 2 algs. CW and CCW, borrowed from Thrawsts tutorial)
a 2 corner swap(basically a J perm)
and parity(Two adjacent edges)
The bottom layer is solved intuitively sorta.

I can make a video explaining this if needed.

No I understand that it's 2-look and that both cases take you back to the first. I want to know why there are two different ones for seemingly the same case.

Alg 2 swaps the FD-FU and RU-DL edges without affecting corner permutation. During sub step 1 you orient and permute 2 edges, Which are the UL and UB edges during sub step 2. If you were to use AUF and ADF to make case 3 into case 4 or 4 to 3, it would mess up the permutation/orientation of one of those edges.

Every method I looked into for sq-1 was two complicated with two many algs and many steps that could either be combined or lost entirely.

Going off the overview of that method
I would do
step one
step 3 and 9 at the same time
step 4 one alg
skip step 5 and 6
step 7 one alg
step 8 1 alg

but if you learn 6 algs for step 4 you can avoid parity all together

During 4x4 edge pairing, I pair up my edges with r turns. I see that most cubers tend to use u turns. Is the way I'm doing it ok, or should I change?

Erik uses vertical edge pairing. It has the advantage of easily seeing the R and L sides where the edges are stored, where with horizontal, it is the U and D, where you can only see one side. It takes alot of getting used to, but IMO, it could be faster than horizontal.

Well, while solving my Dayan + MF8 4x4 is class today it exploded... I figured out what the cause of it is but I'm not sure how to fix it.

As you can see, the edge and corner of the inner core are literally glued together, I'm assuming this is because of the silicone lubricant I used. How would I get these two pieces free without damaging them?

Did you break in the lubricant immediately after applying it?

Yes, but I didn't disassemble it before hand like I usually do with my other cubes. I'm guessing that those two pieces just didn't get moved. Anyone with an answer for me?

Try using a knife to break the pieces apart. Just be extra careful that the you cut directly in between the pieces.
That worked for me when my Rubik's store bought was glued together.

Hey. I have 2 questions. I just ordered an East Sheen 5x5x5 from HuskeyOmega's site, and there's just some stuff I was wondering about...
1: Are they making the cubes smaller than they used to, or am I just crazy? I used to have a black East Sheen 5x5, but it seems as if it was a lot bigger then. Is it that, or is it just that I bought a white one this time, as opposed to black the last time?
2: Is there a way to stop the center caps from coming off? As soon as I started my first solve with it, a center cap came off. All of them have been doing it, but the red seems to be the worst for this. Should I glue it down, or will the paper trick that works on the 7x7 work on this too?

1. No, I don't think so. They should be the same size.
2. You can glue them or use the paper trick.
