Hello. My current cross-solving method is to place the cross pieces in correct orientaion on the correct side, and then permute them, if needed. I know that this is really inefficient, so I am looking for advice for what steps I need to take to improve effiency on solving the cross. I am also color neutral, so please keep that in mind. If you need more information, just ask.

Try to do the cross in under 8 moves.
Reduce rotating the cube and do the cross on the bottom so you don't have to rotate it later on

Hey guys,

you know how CCT has a function that you connect your timer to your PC and it works. I don't have that chord, is there a place to get it?
You can buy the cable and be set to go here. It's extrmemely cheap.

I'm trying to acquire all of the top 3x3 cubes and I have a couple questions:
Is it worth it to get both the Ghosthand I and II or should I just get the II?
Is the Alpha II worth getting?
Is the Alpha III-f worth getting?
Is the YJ finhop or regular YJ worth getting?
I don't think there's a deinite answer to all your cubes. But I can say that all of those are NOT the best speedcubes out in the market. The Alpha-V, F-II, and DaYan GuHong are. And chances are where you buy, it's worth the price.
What's the standard 4x4x4 adjacent PLL parity alg?
I know the opposite one and since it's so short and simple I assume there's a similar one for the adjacent case.
edit - Ryan, in Dan's X-cube vid he appears to do white and yellow 1st.
If it's edges swapped, R' U R U r2 U2 r2 Uu2 r2 Uu2 U R' U' R.
Corners: Hold in front of you, r2 U2 r2 Uu2 r2 u2, T perm.

whats the best method for learning algorithms

Do it over and over and over and over.

Does anyone have a picture of the backside of a rubik's magic (starting position)? I'm attempting for the FOURTH time to restring my magic and I want to make sure I'm doing it right.

EDIT: 12,000th post in this thread!

I don't know much about magic, but could this be what you're looking for?

I just got a MF8 translucent square 1, the slice layer turns very well but the U and D layers are horrible. Do I need to lubricate it or should I just disassemble, clean and replace the screw/spring?

Lubricate it, it'll help a lot.

With what? I'm not sure about the effects jig a loo will have on it.
Jig-a-loo will probably be fine. Just make sure that if you completely disassemble it, don't touch it and let it dry; and if you just take out a few pieces, put it back quickly and work it in right away. CRC will work too.

I got an X-Cube for my birthday. What is a good lube? I just finished assembly and it's got nothing. I don't look forward to disassembling to lube it but I will if I must since it's currently crap. I have Lubix and a spray with petroleum distillants which= bad right? I'm willing to buy another lube but I need to know what works with it.

i used lubix and it seemed to have worked out well

it doesnt matter if its actual CRC or not, as long as its 100% silicone

most lubricants aren't 100%, to the extent of my knowledge only lubix is.

That's not it, I want it so it's in the starting position, 3 separate rings and the tiles are in a 2x4 rectangle. I know how to string it but I don't know if I'm placing the tiles correctly.

Are you using the standard inserts, or custom? If standard, just make sure the front matches. If custom look here, I posted a template.
btw, that site does have how to arrange the tiles, it is farther down the page.

Even the inner core? Just like in a Dayan there's going to be a lot of friction from there. How'd you lube it exactly?

Lubix.

here is a video, lubing starts at about 15 min in.
Unfortunately, it needs to be lubed while assembling. The creator said it is hard otherwise.
