You are the one that told me the YJ was slightly smaller, if that's true then V5 pieces are slightly bigger, meaning they might not fit

When I said slightly smaller I really did mean only slightly (maybe 1 millimetre but it's hard to tell because both my V-5s have CS tiles).
I'm going to try it tomorrow anyway. If it doesn't work then no big deal.
If it does work out well I might get another YJ just for the core.

I am getting horrible times when I try to do F2L instead of the first 3 steps of the beginner method. I'm getting like 6:20 and stuff like that when my normal average is 1:15. The reason is I always screw up previously placed F2L corners and edges so can anyone tell me some strategys for avoiding and/or undoing this?

When you are inserting or creating a pair, only open the slot that you are inserting the pair into. For example, if you are inserting into the FR slot, only use R or F' to open the slot, and U's to create the pair and insert it. In other words, only expose non-filled slots to the top layer, if that makes sense.

My question:
Setup: M2 U2 M2 R (cross on bottom)

How would you handle this as a cross case?

Watch Badmephisto's videos and A LOT OF PRACTICE

Also download his PDF file where he gives his algs for all of the F2L cases. Don't learn the algs for most of the cases. Just do your version of the alg, and see how your alg compares. Most cases are pretty obvious how to do the optimal way. But some aren't. Anyway if you don't do the optimal alg, perform his algs, see where the pieces go. Don't learn F2L by algorithms, just learn it by tracking pieces and understanding how the pieces move.

Also, in his PDF, he uses lowercase D moves. Don't use them.

Is there an official WCA scrambling position for megaminx? Like there's green in front and white on time for 3x3. Is there something similar to minx?

Also just a general survey question. When you're solving a minx do you say you're still cubing or are you now minxing?

@RubiksHuman. Practice

Ok... Let me ask you this. What is the best way I could practice, like solving the cube fast each time while using as much f2l as possible, continuously solving f2l over and over again, etc. So my question is What is the best way to practice?

practice cross and f2l over and over. Drill algs for LL. Learn about algs by performing f2l algs on a solved cube, observe what happens. some longer f2l algs reduce one case to an easier one, and then perhaps to an easier one again. This means any difficult cases you know can teach you things about other cases, learning which algs/cases are inverse of eachother may help to. Just practice, and try to learn everything you can.
